JIGGING For Deep Sea MONSTERS!!!

Sent the big girl out wide to tangle with some monsters on the reef edge, fishing the Great Barrier Reef, 85NM out to sea, in 65m of water with relatively light pe4 jigging tackle, is some of the best fun you can have fishing! Endless variety of species from Coral Trout to Red Emperor and all the other fun stuff in between, as youll see we all had longer arms by the end of the day...
Grab a beer and kick back cos it’s a longer one 😅

Nice work guys yeah have lost lots of pliers and dehookers over the side in the past knowing the feeling Mick looking for a new rod what’s your suggestion that won’t break the bank I have 80lbs braid overhead reel love the the bending

Great video mate! What rod and reel are you using for jigging? Doesnt look like your usual Boca rod and Ocea 1500. Looking to match my ocea 2000 with PE4 to a high end rod, would you recommend the Boca or Ocen Legacy elementus?

Pretty sure this was the pe4 Elementus but if I was in the market I’d hold out for the new Oceans Legacy Solist coming out soon, I don’t think they’re too far off 🤫

Just purchased a Salitga 15h and I want to match it with a solid jig rod. what would you recommend on this reel given I have plans to fish the reef in the next 2 months and I want to jig. II have Shimano Grappler 37 pound braid on the reel and I am tossing up between the Oceans Legacy Stinger from BCF PE3 or do I upgrade the rod to an ELEMENTUS PE4 which gives me more pulling power. I am considering the NOMAD PE2-4 OH reel 6.2

Yeah the slow pitch, there are actually 2 models in the Elementus slow pitch 6’3 & 6’7 and one in the Elementus Deep. Pe 4 in all those models 👌🏻

Invest in some lip grips. That way ya can bring fish in and dehook fish without grabbing their gills. And not losing stuff over the side.
