Make folding footpegs that extend further out front. When not riding you could have them fold over the top and lock in to function as a carry handle. Im sure part of why its so hard to ride is you are fighting your feet to turn the wheels.
@Avetho2 жыл бұрын
Definitely, when you lean on a bike, you shift your weight to the other side to balance yourself, so when you lean on this you push your weight down on the opposite foot peg and so the front wheel turns out of the lean which makes the bike fall over immediately. So yeah, I like your idea of folding pegs, and maybe make the front fork less chopper-angle and bend the forks out forward a little so the wheel wants to stay straight when in motion.

It would be more stable if you altered the front axle to be in front of the 'forks' by a few centimeters. This would give it a caster effect and would help to use the rider's weight to help stabilize the bike. If you want a good example of what I'm talking about, have a look at the 'real' motorcycle, or a bicycle front fork arrangement.

This is so cool. I've been kicking around a few ideas like this as well. I remember when Honda came out with their Motocompo back in the early 80's and I thought that was so cool. Now, with all the ebike motors and batteries, building something very small and compact to throw in a vehicle for emergency transportation, that could be charged while the vehicle is running, and have a 20 mile range, is very doable. I hope you do more videos on this project. Keep up the great work.

Peter - you’re an amazing person and I’m in awe. I don’t usually have any ideas to add but in this case, my 30+ years riding and teaching and becoming fascinated with 2-wheel geometry might have come up with something to make it more easily controllable. Add a bit of trail to the front wheel either by adding a small bend at head tube and fork or (my vote) moving the front wheel’s axle mounts forward some fractions of an inch. The trail will make the bike want to “track out” the front tire and induce countersteering more readily. Edit: You guys have lots of rake and no trail. You all have amazed me again by riding that box so well! Wow! Not kidding. Look up papers regarding relationships between rake and trail. Hope you’re having fun with Gyro flying! 👍🏼

This Mini-Motorcycle may seem like a goofy, unpractical idea at first but this is actually smart. A Mini Transport Vehicle that can fit right on a Soldier's Backpack. It can be a Last Ditch Transport to get out of Quick Engagements. The Enemy will be too surprised or laughing to respond fast enough and it's practical storage capacity can fit Documents, Ammo, Grenades, Low Caliber Firepower. Hell, Stick an Extra Ammo Can or two on that bad boy and you've get so much extra storage space all by itself. It's basically a compact backpack Humvee ! This is actually genius !!! Stick an Extra Battery or two in there and you'll be set. Also, with it's small stature and electricity powered engine. It makes The Soldier piloting it Less Noticeable and More Quiet than Regular Gas Engine. It would be The Perfect Scouting Vechicle or a Courier Transport. It's Genius !!! A few adjustments to make The Bike more controllable and it'll be Perfect.

Hey Peter, I have a design that I think you need to explore, It used to be a thing here in Australia in the 80`s but was a little to dangerous, you seem like the perfect guy to modernise/motorise it. It`s a billy cart, much like the classic design, but you don`t have the cart sides, you replace the seating area with a pad and leave a bit of the spine hanging out the back. it`s ridden face forward like a motor bike, your feet hang off the rear and you brace your feet either side of the overhanging spine. Sort of like a cross between street luge and billycarting, obviously leaning forward the front axle becomes the handlebars. you used to `scoot` to get them going. That should be enough info to get the idea, hope it`s of some use, cheers, Dave. Please if you try it wear plenty of safety gear, I can`t stress enough how stupidly dangerous they can be!

The Caster angle seems a little steep. This could make it hard to steer due to the small handlebars. The self center torque is higher on a steep Angle. Chopper can pull of a steeper angle due to having a longer wheelbase and wider handlebars. Maybe consider choosing less aggressive angle for more riding comfort. Reference some road bikes like that one in vid. Anyway love your vids. This got inspired to due something like that myself.
