Awesome fishery, my local go too , glad you came back and had a bash. Mint facilities, mint fish and the friendless staff. Well worth a trip 👍

Hi Joe the new Sonubaits 1mm pellets are even better than the 2mm ones for making paste.

Another awesome video and production a good method to putting a weight together before the bigger residents move in to feed. I have fished the pole with some good sessions but it's always good to watch videos of the experts and learn some new tricks. The paste is simple to make and easy to strike through to hook the fish every time, I'm thinking of using the Fjuka 2-1 pellets have you used them before if so do you rate them? Keep up the good hard work and more match wins will be on the cards.

I fish down the edge with normal rigs and pea size on the times when it goes quiet on paste sloppy it always amazes me how finicky lumps can become. And fishing small can keep you in touch until signs fish have returned and are feeding more confident,switch to heavy elastic etc

Funny you mentioned Neil Machin. I had a coaching day with him on Heronbrook (2007)which got printed in the Midland Angler magazine. It was part paste short for the stockies. Virtually everything same as your approach except Neil used a coffee grinder to grind pellets for paste. Good video👍

I remember it well Alan. Copied Neil's approach back in those days 👍

I fished the browning youth masters at Cudmore back in those days and I had a brand new Garbolino G8 that had a load of broken sections when delivered (the day before I was travelling down from North East). Neil came to Cudmore offered me his G10 to use for the comp and gave me a free lesson on the strip lakes at Cudmore whilst practicing. What a great bloke!!! Does anyone know if he's still about? He taught me some things that I will never forget when it comes to presentation and bait prep

I've fished Paste for years and use a similar tactic every week. Personally I prefer to fish a longer lash say 2-3 feet fished 2+ a short section instead. You still keep a tight line to the float but form the bow in the line so you can get the float down to a dimple. It's also easier to swing the Paste out and if your using a longer lash you can keep adjusting the depth to chase the fish down the slope or to lay on a bit more when it's windy.

That's what separates expert match angler's from just regular match angler's..the thinking of new method's and tactics,then practice with fine tuning...would love see a full match fished this way..I am sure how regular ur catching other angler's would start to panic and try Force their swim totally screwing it up..

Joe. Did exactly the same, but my pellets still retained that individuality. How did you mash them up with a machine or by hand, you're paste was really smooth, mine bitty? Thanks will try this Joe.

What pellets did you use? Mine went to a smooth mush easily. If not I would push them through a fine riddle

One of the anglers in the club I fish with uses micro paste, he absolutely kills it every week. Now I know how to make it I am going to give it a go.
@julien14 жыл бұрын
you can also add one or two maggots - i got 68.8 lb of f1's (max size 2lb) in a 3 hour match. Maggots on the lowest part of the curve on a 16 (even 14) then cover the rest of the hook with paste, so you see the bottom half of the two maggots only. If paste comes off after a missed strike your still locked and loaded . Feed a few micros micros and a few deads each put in. Try it you'll be surprised. Every now and again and last hour you might use another top kit set up for carp paste put on a big piece to see if there are carp down there with say 4 or 5 deads on the hook also - increase your feed last 2 hours. You can also use banded hair with a 4 or 6 mm pellet and paste covering hook. Also you can use paste in the margins on a feeder rod for really big carp over 10lb. Get a banded 12 or 10 or even 8 hook - put a 6 or 8 mm pellet in the band - put a ball of paste around it and swing it into the margins. Leave a relatively loose line - ie dont tighten up so it pulls the hook out of the paste. The pellet keeps the paste on the hook. Sit back and wait for your rod lol to be pulled in.

@@julien1 thanks for this , do you pot the bait in ?
@julien14 жыл бұрын
@@topfuelteddy I do usually i fish paste pretty runny. if its really runny, thicker paste is easier as Joe highlights - Runny i like to put it on top of dry loose ground bait in the pot so it doesnt stick inside the pot. I dont think there is any other way to fish - I just paste fish. F1's Silvers whatever. Watching Joe in this video I mean to me he could win it just doing this method, it looks non stop. The bigger carp and f1's are gonna come in and take any size paste bait, if they are in there. Hes saying hes had 46 fish say average 6oz in 1 hour (and its probably a tad more than 6oz with some bigger fish). Thats 25 pound or so - times by 6 = 125lb and match win.
