There is no doubt this man lives and loves what he does! What a truly lucky human being. Many of us want to, talk about it but very few do what they love. This holds true for anything in life. This is who I would be if I wasn't afraid or let life get in the way by design. Thank you for this little morsel Peter. I'm not just talking about audio either.

30:46 Nepalese/Tibetan "Tingsha" Bells or "Finger Cymbals". Used by Buddhist monks during meditation, yoga, and traditional ceremonies. These are usually very thick and heavy for their size and have a long sustain or decay as well. There are also small round brass or bronze Tibetan bells called "crotal" bells (like sleigh bells) that were/are used on horses, horse-drawn carriages & carts, livestock herds (sheep/goats), and on hawks/raptors for falconry. Both date back to the early 16th century, and the Tingsha bells will traditionally have "Ashtamangala" symbols on them, or the eight auspicious symbols, including the right-turning conch, the endless knot, the two golden fish, the lotus flower, the jeweled parasol, the treasure vase, the wheel of the law, and the victory banner. The larger brass/bronze bowls shown before that were Tibetan "singing bowls". You can put water in these at different levels to change the fundamental pitch and overtones. In the U.S., check out the Memphis Drum Shop's "Gong Chamber".

22:56 A newer version of this book "The Complete Guide to High-End Audio" by Robert Harley has been on my Christmas wish list for a little over a year now. We'll see if Santa comes through this year.

Loved it... Always wondered why there was wires sticking out of the PCB on the Z-Studio 4-channel. The man definitely cares about the tinniest of details.

but maybe next time, use a pair of wireless mics, sometimes the voices are hard to unterstand ;-)

Just turn it up! 😃 I agree, that will have to be done next, although as you could see most of the times we were just rambling and talking about random stuff as we were walking around in the factory. It was way more relaxing this way than something like an “interview”.

Peter's face at 30 mins. He wants to deaden everything..
@pssound9749Ай бұрын
Haha nooo, certain instruments have to have natural decay just like those bells and gongs and a good system has to be able to replicate that.

For an audiophile, the acoustics of his rooms are horrendous.
@RWL2012Ай бұрын
I don't get that. I was watching another "audiophile" channel and the guy just talking was echoing all over the room... and here I am with "non-audiophile" equipment and a pretty dead room.
@pssound9749Ай бұрын
A dead room is never great for listening. Use more diffusors than absorbers.

@@thomashoffmann9646 I didn't wanted to be mean :D, anyway the Micro Precision Z Studio 170 sounds incredible even if is free air and through camera mic, I hope at some point I will be able to afford a set.
