IMHO, the Twizy has a good result, i wouldn't call it a failure, don't forget that the Twizy has no doors and it is supposed to be an upgrade to a motorcycle, not a true car. ;)

It's not that the golf cart is unable to achieve 50 kph and quite safe on a fairway. These are also used on holiday camps & other places, where another vehicle could be in collision with one at 50 kph, or even 35 + 15 for the cart.

the issue is its limited to 425kg or so... there is not much room for safety improvments without makeing it worse elsewhere.... if i would be in politics i would get rid of that so its 900kg empty weight give it a better motor like 25HP and 1000~ccm the car can be certified for dual speed mode aka 45 and 70... ppl with AM can get AM+ (6 lessons for securtiy) wich allows that the limit of the car is 70kph

"Oncoming traffic does 50 km/h" that's why golf carts aren't made to drive in streets, that doesn't mean that the manufacturer should change the security level but the people should stop driving these vehicles in prohibited locations. And tbh, if they're trying to simulate a 50km/h crash with oncoming traffic, they should've made the test with other car hitting the golf cart at this velocity, cause a car that ways like 1,3 tons doing 50 km/h have much more energy than a golf cart doing 50 km/h so the results would be much much worse

Microcar, Ligier, Aixam and Chatenet are light cuadricycles, they are limited to 45 km/h per construction(49cc engine). They're mass is lower tan 350kg. They're not considered a car. It's not fair compair them with the Toyota iQ that haves a 1.0 engine and weight 920kg.

To drive one of those you don't need a driving license, only with a drive permission that you can get in a week is enough. They're not build to be safe over theyr construction speed limit. i saw some guy driving an aixam at 80km/h on a nearby motorway and the car was registered as a quadricycle like ATVs usually are (not a light quadricycle like microcars usually are registered) which do not have speed limits here in Finland and you can drive them with a normal car driving license. seemed kinda sketchy but hey, law is the law.

The micro cars are predominately made for the French market. with a max speed of 50 kph they are driven on all French roads except the Autoroutes (130 kph limit) just about every driver has been banned from driving or never held a driving licence ( a loophole in French law) they are more expensive new than a basic car as these people have no choice. You can imagine how dangerous these plastic pigs are on a 90 or 110kph road.

We also have these micro cars in Belgium. People without a license, or with a suspended license can drive them legally. For many decades, those cars didn't even have a license plate.(!) It's only recently that they changed the law and the license plate became mandatory.

There are those in finland and almost every week there is a story about how a teenager died or was seriously injured driving these. These "cars" are nothing more than a 500cc engine and plastic and for some reason these cost as much as a real car, can go only 45km/h and still people buy these when you could have a moped or a scooter for fraction of the money and helmet is better than that thing.

This crash test is completely biased. Most of these "cars" have 50kmh speed limit (plus they can be used only on urban road where the limit is 50kmh) and che crash test is made at 50kmh. Cars max speed is 140kmh to more than 300kmh, they can go on highways where the speed limit is 130kmh to infinite (on german autobahn) and the crash test is made at 70kmh. Impact speed for urban vehicles should be around 30kmh.

This is really bad and "cars" like that should be forbidden on normal roads, because many (older) people don't know that it is very dangerous and not comparable with real cars. Before thinking about buying such a death trap, try to get a real driver license and buy an old VW Lupo or something like that - every car is much safer.
