Andy, if the heater is only drawing 4A you need to change that 30A fuse, if the heater shorted out the 15A wining would go up before the fuse. Use a 7.5 or 10A and a fuse holder, that fuse will fracture with its connectors bend and with vibration, it will make it worse. Loving the windows, far better than the old ones Good luck
@andykirby5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, the 4A was at the 48v side, it’s about 15-20 at the 12v side, probably still need a smaller fuse! Good point about the fuse holder.

Hey Andy great video on the accessories. I recently contacted the government motorbike registration & license authority here in Western Australia to see if I could get a license & registration for an Electric reverse Trike, 2 wheels at the front, 1 wheel powering legally on the road & they surprised me saying yes there is a special license for Trikes only. So cool this year I'll be building an 8kw 900rpm using 21"x1.85 motorbike wheels & 21-90/90 Adventure style tyres that are 50/50 road/dirt. With those tires & 21" rims the max speed will be 121km/hr or 75.2 mph on a flat road with a bit of a long run up. I'll also put 720x 6"x6" solar cells that are 3600w over the fibreglass body panels so that I can increase the range between 720km to 900km or 448 miles to 560 miles in 9 hours of traveling, the 72v 8 kW 21" motorbike wheel with the 180ah 13.32 kW hr battery together with the 3600w solar panels & the lightweight vehicle is why it can travel so far. I could travel across Australia in 6 days during summer easily doing a casual 720km a day & if I am out in the middle of nowhere I can set up a 2kw pure sine wave inverter generator that produces a bit over 1200w to power a 13 amp charger to charge the Trike's battery up in 12 hours & 15 minutes during the night before leaving in the morning the next day. Over the 6 days journey if I had to use the generator to charge 5 times I would only use around 33 Litres of petrol or 7.25 UK or 8.7 US Gallons to cross 3935 km or 2445 miles of country. I hope that you wish me luck.
@Gabriel.Leni1005 жыл бұрын
3600w solar? Something is wrong with your math mate... But even if you manage to get All those cells on you will only be able to have maybe 30 or 40% of them in direct sunlight producing top Power. Just keep that in mind.
@solarfunction18475 жыл бұрын
5.131w x 600 Cells = 3078.6 Watts + 4.92w x 120 = 590.4 Watts Totally = 3669 Watts. Perth to Sydney 3935 km running west to east which just so happens to follow the sun. The way that I plan to arrange them will keep as many in the sun as possible in a rectangle shape, curved. They only might get around 2/3 the actual power if I use copper foil that you buy for spot welding Li-Ion batteries on the bus bars & cell connectors because normally they use nickel coated steel which accounts for most of the losses because of it being a poor conductor of electricity. Look the point is that I'm willing to try to do something that is very much different than what we are forced to have if we buy electric vehicles. There are no current electric vehicles that can travel & charge at the same time, there are no electric vehicles that have such a long range & I'm not trying to make a business, it won't look pretty, it will be functional & cheap when it comes to an electric vehicle.

@andykirby5 жыл бұрын
Cool! Make sure you don’t heat one side of the battery more than the other. The whole battery needs to be heated equally which is a bit difficult to do, you could just try and heat up the space without directly heating the battery. I’ve been thinking about this for when I finally make a new Twizy battery.

andy kirby Heater with remote off only bring the pack too above 5c and all three blocks of the 21s pack have temperature sensors. I get what are saying the fan should spread the heat around enough and once on the road the pack generates satisfactory heat. Does that signal to the charge socket to disengage the lock?
