I appreciate the info but this doesn't clarify hero's stack depth, or should this be 50bbs+ eff as a STD?

Should my 3 bet sizing be smaller as stacks get shorter? I usually do 2.5x when 15-30 BB deep, and 2x when under 15. If I have JJ+ or AK/AQ, I dont want to shove and get a fold. Is it a mistake to be doing this downsizing? It also seems like the smaller sizing gets more shoves into my premium hands.

why would u start opening JTs and T9s before QJs in MP with no ante? is it because often when u hit top pair with QJ you could be so often dominated? perhaps JT and T9 have better post flop playability? please I need answers this is keeping me up at night.

lol i hope youre less distressed. im no expert but id guess you got it right. JTs and 109s have chances to hit straights or connect with cards that just wouldnt connect with AK type hands so when that happens the situation would be more clear/playable. QJ could be dominated or it could land you in a spot where youre behind but you know you have to call.

Because Queens and Jacks very well could be dominated by Villains hole cards.

This I agree with, but I've watched some "raise your edge" coaching videos on youtube that advocate much much looser play style. I think one guys name was "Egption", look him up, he doesnt share his exact ranges for each position but he shits on the guy he's coaching for not raising with J8s from low jack (3 off the button). Just overall seems like he recommends like a 45/30 VPIP/PFR which seems like a maniac to most people

You can definitely be more aggressive against competent players at higher stakes. But when playing against loose passive players who don’t ever fold a hand you want to play tighter. I realize I’ve been applying a much higher level thinking strategy at my local $100 tournament (with a 20k guarantee not too shabby) with poor results because people play way too loose/passive where almost every flop is multi way, tons of limp/calling it’s horrible. This sounds like a more ABC yet sound strategy for the softer fields who rarely go beyond the « what cards do I have » level of thinking.

I am not sure I agree on your strategy versus casual fishes. What works for me is thin value bet them until their roll bleeds into your lap. Avoid big pots with them. Tailor raises to get rid of everybody but the fish and play as many hands versus them in position. Whenever you are ahead bet it moderately and just keep getting a few of their chips at a time. It will not be swift but they will die a death by a thousand cuts. Leave yourself enough chips to bail if you must at turn or river. The fish do love to draw out, don't they? If they are really fishy I try not to eliminate a fish to my right at the table. That is my ATM. Leave that ATM right where it sits. With luck somebody will double him up for you to sheer that sheep again and again. Don't skin it.

Thanks for great info! question regarding positions if there is 6 max table so is clear who is UTG MP CO BTN SB BB but when is 4 in table the position are SB BB CO BTN ?? should I consider CO as UTG in 4 people table with the same hand ranges?
@BladeKyt
@BladeKyt 5 жыл бұрын
I don't know whether or not you are still interested in answer but here you are :). When in 6max the positions are UTG MP CO BTN SB BB. When there is less players you just subtract earliest positions from the table. So 5max has MP CO BTN SB BB and 3 max has only BTN SB BB positions.

In 6max it is LJ instead of UTG, a common mistake and you obviously don't want to use the fullring UTG range for LJ in 6max. However, a lot of people talk about UTG in 6max

On 4.19 you are saying i should open pocket 4s 5s 6s or 7s utg? Even me playing 1$ to 10$ know that is completly wrong. Dude, utg means there are 8 players behind. Not 3, not 5, eight. And that is a lot of combinations. With opening 4s to 7s utg you are spliting at BEST
@craig1131
@craig1131 5 жыл бұрын
Nenad Nesovic you can open them with a small raise and set mine depending on how deepstacked it is, if someone jams your not committed and if you hit you hopefully get paid off, true your likely flipping at best if it was jammed in but you wouldn’t want to jam 4’s or something early in the tournment

Yeah, you are not supposed to call all in everything you open, but PLEASE for the sake of poker, don't minraise UTG lol that's just undiscribably awful lol, go 2.4-3X with every hand in range showed in this video

My poker Shero would limp call 66 and under but raise 77 and up. What she would open with UTG would be q-9, q8, q7, j8 j7 or a suited connector. Those hands have capacity to play better out of position than many hands. If you have millions of hands in database as a super nitty TAG and then bust these types of moves fearlessly, your opponents will shit themselves every time you look at putting chips in a pot just like they did for a young Annette Oberstad at age 16. The snap folds around the table were a sight to behold...

At micro limits i think that it's useless, cuz noone gives a shit at your image table. You can add some 3 bets with hands that can hit hard if they hit at the flop tho. Some sc for example.
