@@pablofacciolo2911 The microKORG has 128 memory slots total. If you have a USB-MIDI cable, you can store as many patches as you want on your computer and choose which patches go into each of those memory slots. You can also always do a "Factory Reset" to bring your synth back to its original presets. If you don't have a MIDI interface/cable, you can manually dial in the patches with the "Edit Control" knobs using "recipe" files that tell you the value for each setting.

just ordered mine.love the sound of this little synth.had to get rid of mininova which sounded fantastic.but this just sounds better to my ears.pretty good vox humana patch as well.

Thor, you're a beast man. I just got my (used) mk in the mail today, immediately bought your pack this morning and am FIENDING to get off work to get these going. Your patches were definitely a tipping point. Really really great stuff. AND, this may be premature, but if this doesn't exist, I'm looking for the Oberheim OB-x sound on Young Turks by Rod Stewart. I'm working on a medley of that, Dancing in the Dark (The Boss) and Walk of Life (Dire Straits)... I'd love to be able to walk into practice like a boss :) THANK YOU in advance either way for all the insane attn to detail and hard work. Much appreciated.

Wow these sound amazing. Recently got into synthwave and darksynth these will work brilliantly. I know what I'm getting on pay day 🤪 I will be dialing these in myself though as I like the long process of doing g it myself I also thinks it helps to understand synthesis

I recommend using the microKORG Sound Editor software so you can see all the parameters together on one screen. I use that to create all the patches. It makes it a lot easier to visualize what the patch is doing, how the parameters all interact together. I find "Menu diving" on the microKORG itself too slow and confusing, especially since when you're creating a sound from scratch you often go back and forth between parameters really fine tuning it in. But I guess like anything, it just takes practice. If you can get good and comfortable menu diving, then maybe it's worth the initial pain.

Iggy Wake I also have a video demo of the patches i made for the XL. Check it out of you haven't already. The XL is more flexible+powerful, but the original can make more soft washy sounds.

@@savanaviolenta It's more powerful in the sense that it has *more* features. It has an additional (sub) oscillator (so 3 total compared to the microKORG's 2), let alone more usable digital waveforms, and also has more modulation sources/destinations in the custom patch matrix. If I remember correctly it also has more patch matrix slots. Being able to do 6 custom things instead of 4 is what I consider "more powerful." Basically the only thing the original microKORG has that the XL doesn't is the really juicy-sounding ensemble effect. For most analog-style patches that don't need the extra features, the microKORG sounds better IMO, but many XL sounds are impossible to create on the microKORG due to the sound engine not being as full-featured.

deano brand I don't have out in front of me but I think I just used two saw waves or maybe a square and a saw. there's an article I think on soundonsound.com that describes how to recreate a vox humana patch (not specific to the microkorg) that proved to be a helpful starting point for me. it was really hard on the mk since it doesn't have enough lfos to do it properly. the trick is three lfos modulating the pitch at different frequencies.

The microKORG holds a total of 128 sounds at a time. So you can either swap these in and then swap the originals back in when you want those, or you can mix and match and put your favorite factory patches along with your favorite from this pack.

Not sure what a midi sample is. These are presets for the microKORG. You can use the MIDI connection to transfer the presets onto your microKORG.

I'd say the Microbrute and the mkXL together will let you cover the largest range of sounds. The mkXL has more routing capabilities than the original mk and is capable of crisp digital sounds the original can't do.

Two ways: 1) you can transfer them digitally via MIDI. You'll need a MIDI connection to your computer to do this. You can get USB-MIDI cables for under $50. 2) you can manually dial them in using the knobs by following the "recipe" files. This takes a long time.

Quickest way is via MIDI. You can get a cheap USB->MIDI adapter for like $30. But you can also manually enter the patches into your MicroKORG using the "Program Edit" dials by following the included text/"recipe" files.
