This a wonderful video.. as young lad in the mid 60s I lived on Anglesey and traveled daily by crossville bus along the Beaumaris to Menai Bridge road to school as I gaze at this i brings memories flooding back... well done and thanks for posting

Hi, nice video. What is the glide ration on this type of aircraft? I have seen some suffer and engine out and they seem to go down slowly, depending on the pilot skills and wind speed but a few videos look as if they fall like a rock. I'm flying a PPL A license (JAR) and bored with Cessna and Piper expensive, and not much fun, flying. Considering a weight shift or three axis, maybe Thruster T600N or if flexwing a Quick model. What do you reckon?

nipty bipty Hey, thank you. I'm sorry to say I was only a passenger not the pilot, however I'm reliably informed that if the engine cuts out and won't restart, it is quite possible to glide down safely and land on a beach or in a field if suitably skilled. Probably a bit of a bumpy landing I dare say, but as I believe its very unlikely you would just plummet out of the sky. :)

I wish I could answer these questions for you, but I was just a passenger enjoying the ride :) Sorry

Do you remember why the first landing attempt was aborted?
@TudnoTelly4 жыл бұрын
I do as it happens, it was a bit of a gusty day, and the wind got up just across the runway just as we were coming in, so the pilot aborted and we went round again and landed safely on the next run.

@@TudnoTelly Thanks for the reply Geoff. I had flying lessons there in a microlight and had to do the same once. The wind can play havoc on that approach.

@@grahamrobertson6497 No problem. Yes it can , and it did that day, I was glad when we finally landed haha
