This video will show you the following:
1/ Check the existing Ethernet Communication Configuration on Controller
2/ Change the Ethernet Configuration on controller
3/ Setup your computer communication configuration so that it can see the controller.
4/ Ping the controller from your computer
5/ Find the controller IP on RSlogix500
6/ Download the program to controller.
For Micrologix1100, it is impossible to set IP address right from the PLC.
1/ "Advanced Set"
2/ "DCOMM CFG" / "ENABLE" to set DF-1 as Default.
3/ Using "RSLogix 500" programming software with "1761-CBL-PM02" cable to set IP address to the PLC.

i am still trying to understand my Solar Panel set up, does this unit tell the panel when to move? My panel is moving back to its home base to early. It starts to turn back to home base at 6:20pm and should not turn back until about 9pm this time of the year.

@@SYPHOANG if that is what you call it then yes, the panel will move in the morning to a position, then again when the sun gets higher and then again when the sun starts to go down, then it will turn all the way back to were it started. So I am guessing it is controlled by a timer to move at certain times of the day?

@Eric: Based on what you described, it is a combination of timer and counter. First, you need to setup a 1 hour timer. Every hour it will be reset by itself but it also automatically add 1 count to the hour counter. Second, you will need to setup "EQU" (equal instrunction) to compare the current hour count to specific times to move your solar panel. For example, if "current hour count" = 9, plc sends output to your solar panel for the first move. if "current hour count" = 12, plc sends output to your solar panel for the second move... Finally, you need to set a reset for your counter when it reaches 24 (24 hours / a day). after it reset, the whole cycle repeat. Let me know if this helps. To work with Micrologix, you will need Rslogix500.

hi..i have Allen Bradley 1400 Micro logix 1400 on one of my machinery. can you please tell me about Major error code- 0389h. logic module is not working. appreciate your reply and troubleshooting.

I am not sure what you have on slot 3 (slot#0 is the controller itself, slot 3 is the third card card after the controller). The error code indicates the third card is generating error. For more information you can look at page 564 in the below manual. literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/rm/1766-rm001_-en-p.pdf the first 2 digits indicate the slot number, the last 2 is for the actual error code. My recommendation is: 1/ Try to go online with the controller from your PC and clear it. 2/ If it is not recoverable, turn off, replace the 3rd card, turn it back on. 3/ If it is still there, go online with the controller again and try to clear it. Please let me know if this works for you.

What is red and white wires for? If power supply then is it 230V AC?

how to find IP address on Mircologix 1100

@simon ngo: Micrologix1100 has 2 ports: an Ethernet port and a round port. An Ethernet port of course is for Ethernet communication. But the communication can also be setup only on the round port which is for DF-1 over RS-232/RS-485. The easiest way to find IP address on Micrologix1100 is to use the 3 buttons right on the PLC(“ESC”, “OK”, and the big diamond button for up, down, left&right navigation). The procedure to do it should be similar to this video. After it is found, you will have to configure your pc IP address to be able to see the PLC IP address. Good luck. @Phuong Pham: You can check page 558-565 in the manual from the link provided in the video description. This is strange but per the manual page 563, "xx71" is for "the controller cannot communicate with an expansion I/O module", it is a "Non-Recoverable" fault, and page 565 "If xx = 0, problem cannot be traced to a specific module". To be honest, I think either your controller or the very first I/O module (that is connected to the PLC) is bad/faulted. If I was you, I would have tried replacing the very first I/O module FIRST. If it still does not work, I would recommend you to replace the PLC. Please let me know which one works for you. Thank you.
