This really a big help to all churches and singers every single time. And amazing ways to protect your pastors and singers to any kind of virus now a days.

Thank you for posting this. Especially during this time. I feel like many venues are lazy with the idea of disinfecting microphones, ESP with hundreds of performers using them.

What are those foam liners inside the mic called and where to buy replacements?
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
It's called foam. Generally you want some thing that air can pass through easily, I usually scavenge it. Officially I'm not really sure I've never seen it for sale there's probably some search term that I have not found yet.

Mic covers are a necessity I used to not use Lysol but now I do to keep people from eating them. Always use gloves Alcohol can damage the foam over time

That might actually be a good use for Lysol. haha. I refuse to use the Lysol wipes after I saw it strip paint from wood. And now cause issues with MacBook. I bought two packs of thumb covers and I just throw them in the wash after every use, I can even put a fresh one on for somebody.

do the grill get rusted in putting alcohol in it?

Hello bro. I habe a question i sew u have the beta 87 mic when u comparw that to SM 58 and beta 57a whats yr opnion. Thanks
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
I got a cheap pack of foam mic covers, I just throw those things in the wash (laundry in a laundry bag) after every use and wipe the body down with isopropyl alcohol. less wear and tear on the microphones and disassembling it every time to clean it. And it adds fall protection. Personally I don't believe in the licking the microphone technique, it's gross! Within an inch within an inch think about it as somebody else's ear that you're whispering into would you lick their ear? And yeah foam degrades.

I have a microphone at home that is just sitting there collecting dust and I don't know if I should just buy a whole new mic as the mic has just been sitting there for 10 years
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
It's just been sitting around doing nothing it's probably fine. Although rubbers and foams can degrade.

If you want to clean it every day I just put Lysol in rag and rub it against the grill.

Hi I'm watching this one year later I was wondering how this worked for you. I was looking for the solutions for microphones to use in between people using the same mic.

You mean I shouldn't put the mic grills in the dishwasher? Just kidding. I provide video service for a local ministry and we are going to be using wireless mics in the streets. This video helps. God Bless.

Do people believe in mic covers anymore? If you use them and wash the covers after every service you won’t need to clean the actual mics

Nicholas Harris yea bro, almost like washing dishes, rinse with warm water, dunk them in a solution of soap and water, rinse them out, let them air dry till next Service.

Hello, someone in my family in an effort to clean my microphone has sprayed cleaning product on it and I am unable to test it right now, do you think the microhone may be damaged? I'm using the AKG P420
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
eeeeeee. If the cleaning products just got into the foam you're OK probably should wash it. if it got into the capsule it could have interesting results.

@@WorshipLeaderHangout We actually make the IPA you used which is pretty awesome. Side note for next time - use 70% for your cleaning needs, the 91% will evaporate too quickly to clean appropriately with. Your local hospitals use the 70% too. Praise team tool sanitation FTW!

Is Lysol recommended for microphones?
@WorshipLeaderHangout4 жыл бұрын
I would! Just not on the capsule.
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
Don't know if we're talking Lysol spray or Lysol wipes. I would not recommend wipes you're supposed to use gloves, I've seen it strip paint from wood and now I've seen it cause all sorts of havoc with Mac screens. I wouldn't recommend the spray either as that might get down to the capsule. Soap and water is amazing. And so is 70% alcohol.
@louisaambarita4 жыл бұрын
will it rust?
@WorshipLeaderHangout4 жыл бұрын
Not from my experience.
@imark77777772 ай бұрын
Hitting it with the alcohol will run out the water and then the alcohol will evaporate. But generally if you dry them they shouldn't rust.
@DojoOfCool4 жыл бұрын
Simpler yet buy Pop-filters for the mics, you know the ones that slip onto the end of the mic. As some of your church singers would call them "spit shields". So beside help to filter pops they collect all the spit and etc, are visible reminded don't run this on your mouth, and they are cheap and easy to replace. And you can color code your mics so singer can know which mic to grab and audio mixer can ID a mic from back in the mix area. Second you're buy Shure Beta microphone for church singers bad idea. Church singers polite way to say untrained singers with egos. They either don't know the right way to hold a microphone, no darlin' it not and ice cream cone. Plus they are good at keep the mic in the right position. Worse is the ones that hold it too low because they want to make sure they are being seen more than heard, but they will bitch about being heard if their girl/boy friend tells them they weren't loud enough. So using a Super Cardioid microphone for church singer isn't good, save some money and have better results with church singer using regular SM version Shure mic's. When you post about wireless mic's and church singer then we can talk about how they like to hold the mic' by the antenna area for the mic' and the sound mixer pulls their hair out because the signal goes bad.
