Using glass and earthen vessels and steel utensils may help. Dont throw glass containers of pickles and other articles that come in glass. Wash and use them. Yes they are tedious at first to use but you get habituated. Air we cannot do much.

One confession- as a scientific reseacher myself, i am sick of seeing so much of plastic waste everyday in the lab ! We produce tonnes of plastic one time use dishes and what not, with every experiment we do, i never really know where it goes finally !! I feel ashamed to be a part of this sometimes. 😢

No. Water filters do not form micro plastic. But any plastic product which is degrading will produce micro plastics. Avoid plastics reacting with heat. This is the reason teflon products are widely considered harmful.
