Microscopic Colitis and Me

I had thought about sharing a post about mental health as it's the week for that, but the greatest mental health challenge in my life at present is a physical one -- microscopic colitis. I recently learned that it has also resulted in Cushing's Syndrome.
In short, take care of yourself, especially your digestive system.

Sarah, you are a really sweet person and you are going through a great deal. You have a lovely personality. Your sadness shows through. I know how you feel because l have MC also. You are young and intelligent and will figure out a way to cope. I am trying a very low dose of Budesonide and an anti-inflammatory diet. Good luck and keep reading and searching. Sandy C

I hope you are feeling better than you were in this video. I have been struggling with it for 5 years, but not to the extent you are. Mine really goes in waves. I can be normal for a week then Bial malabsorbtion will strike and i will cycle through pain for a few days. There is always a discomfort when I eat more than a small portion, but the pain only gets bad a few days every week or 2. I also suffer with Barrets esophogus and severe reflux so I struggle from both ends. You are not alone, I hope you have found something that works for you

Thank you! Yes, it is much, MUCH better since this video. Like you, it comes in waves, but they are smaller, less frequent, and more manageable.

My colonoscopy report said I had normal mucosa noted in the ascending and descending colon and it said “this finding is compatible with microscopic colitis”. They also took biopsies and it was positive. I’ve never heard of mucosa being a sign of microscopic colitis? Can’t find it anywhere on the internet or from other people but my doctor got it right

Did your stomach hurt after they took biopsys? I’m so nervous about my endoscopy and colonoscopy coming up. Ugh. They think I have microscopic colitis or crohns

Sending you lots of care ❤️ My stomach didn't hurt at all but I had only a colonoscopy. The 24-48 hours after can be weird (eg. light bleeding or odd stool) but then it should go back to normal. Ask your doctor about what to expect and what is abnormal. I hope you get some answers.
