Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the reason the shuttle still rolls on the flat runway is because Kerbin is small enough that the length of the runway feels significantly different gravitational force directions away from the Normal axis at each end of the runway. If you are perfectly in the middle of the runway, it won't roll, but that's why your shuttle is rolling towards the middle of the runway. Scott Manley pointed this out in one of his videos a while back.

@Logarithm9064 жыл бұрын
The runway at KSC is perfectly flat. It means each end of the runway is actually angled relative to Kerbin's gravity. Giving you a downward slope. Because rolling resistance is so low and kerbin so small, it's enough of a slope to get vessels rolling on their own.

The reason it rolls away even on the runway actually is because the runway is perfectly flat - but Kerbin is not, so the ends of the runway are slightly higher up than the middle.

I know this video is several months old but I figured I'd put this here anyway. The reason why your shuttle continued to roll after you had landed on the runway is because the runway is perfectly flat, but the planet and gravity is not. If you put a plane on the very end of the runway, it'll roll toward the center. Only the center of the runway is flat in relation to gravity. This is because the planet is so small
