Just get a mixed reality HMD and skip this expensive trash for rich people it's like they almost don't want you to buy it at those prices not even the Samsung Odyssey HMD is this expensive and does fairly the same thing and so does Dell Visor. They just forced the camera mode on into realtime feed back which is what Microsoft Should add a mode for that to the Mixed Reality HMD you don't believe it get one and compare that you just got ripped off.

It is expensive, its not meant for normal consumers yet. Its in development and is mostly used by big businesses that sees the potential in the technology and that can help take the technology further. You'll probably see a few more hololens versions before the price goes down and it becomes smoother to use. Where I work we bought a few of them not because we want to make use of it right now in our operations (which you can to an extent) but for testing purposes. Its always like this with any new technology, mobile phones is a prime example.
