@fukthegoog the last MS Flight Sim game was made 15 years ago... in case you don't know, that's a long time ago. Additionally the team making this isn't the team that has made any other FS game. Finally this will also be made for the next XBOX, meaning it's natively made to run at 4K on that system which will have modest computer cores (with a very good GPU).

Dont worry its a console game it will run at 60FPS on min specs,why?becase it will have to run at 60 for the console + systems inside the aircrafts will be very basic therefore hardly any CPU power needed.

In this I agree...one of the things I miss was structured gameplay; missions, goals, addons that allowed us to roleplay rescue pilots. Why can't we have that with a realistic simulator?

Hard to go back to normal flightsims after trying Xplane11 in VR, all the graphics in the world can't make up for the sheer feeling of immersion VR gives you!

The first time I played X-Plane 11 with my Rift S via Steam VR with my CH Fighterstick in my hands, I was standing in the designated area (which is not necessary), and I almost fell over a few times! Making sharp turns while looking at the ground is very deceptive to the brain. I don't ever want to lose that feeling. (Oh, and to reset the view when seated, just press W.)

Well I'm sorry but I might have to thumbs down this travesty of a GM video, I cannot believe you missed out the main requirement for a simulator - the elephants and giraffes were clearly walking through lush grass and many of the other views featured grass! Some of the grass even looked long enough to tickle your pickle if you walked through it after forgetting to get dressed.

This was the one game that made me stand up and take notice when they revealed it on the 9th June 2019. I totally thought Microsoft had axed MFS permanently. This reveal has got me excited. I can't wait for it. Looks like it's a good reason to build myself another PC :D

Over G Fighters was a combat flight simulator that was released in 2005 on Xbox 360. Microsoft really needs to add it to the backwards compatible library. Now that we know that the Xbox One and the next Xbox can run flight sims, maybe we can get Over G Fighters 2 in the future.

My boyfriend is obsessed with MS:FS - were both beyond hyped about this. MS:FS is LONG overdue for a modern update. Needing to buy all these $50-$75 mods so the graphics looks slightly better was getting insane. I spent enough on add-ons (FSX) I could have bought a new high end GPU... The graphics and immersion are half of the experience and this (if it's like this out of the box) is just - wow. Wow... It BETTER support DX12 from the ground up. I need this released this Christmas! lol

What I'm really excited is that the studios funded by Microsoft have a huge budget (compared to X-plane 11's small team), which means that they can match X-plane 11's graphics and simulation quality way faster with loads of developers working on it! In addition to that, they also have the old simulation algorithms from FSX that could be hugely improved, so they're not starting from scratch...

I think the only way an xbox will run this is if the rendering Is all done on Microsoft azure xcloud. Similar to what Google are offering with stadia. The way it's going to work and be playable at nice fidelity levels on both console and pc is that the vast majority of the computational work will be done server side by Microsoft. So you'll need to be always connected online to get it looking like this.

Never ever played any of the objectives when I was using the flightsim. I loved the flying, and will on this as well. I'm glad it's coming out on the PC first so I can get it. I haven' bought a game since COD Ghosts, and not having to buy a new xbox is a big plus.

Curious what the Azure AI use is going to be. I remembered with the announcement of the Xbox one when they were talking about cloud based rendering so i'm wondering if Microsoft will be using MFS as a platform to quietly show off the cloud based rendering system while the children who freak out about change are looking the other way. I'm a little cautious about it, though. Microsoft have a lot they need to live up to after their free play Microsoft Flight (anyone remember that thing?) failed to live up to the basic standards of flight sims and was released and canceled in the same year.

FSX came out in 2006 and no computer could max it out, it wasnt until 2010 when I got an intel I-5 750 overclocked with 4gigs ram that I could run it 90% maxed out with 30-45fps steady with add ons

Currently you can get those graphics with FSX and addons and it doesn't take a beast of a computer to run it..In the last few years programmers have streamlined the code to make it easier for older machines to run a heavy FSX installation. Game looks great..Gonna be super awesome in VR, especially if they get the WX engine right..or at least real time.

its not only for xbox. and microsoft said years ago that they were adding support for flight sim hardware. yokes etc. besides this flight sim will run as a cloud service like stadia, so your hardware wont matter, only your bandwidth.

Xbox One? I had assumed because this was advertised with the Xbox game pass that being released for 2020 that it might coincide with the new Xbox 5 generation console. I think the game will be more scalable than you think though, for a start the video was capture in realtime in 4K so there must be a PC available to MS which can run this, but as it's built from streamed satilite imagery with autogen layer built on top, much like what Orbx are doing with True Earth then I can see this running ok. Sure the lighting and clouds (trueSKY?) and object density look like FPS killers but I'm sure they could be reduced for VR or lesser machines. Very exciting though!!!!

The next gen consols are gonna have actual graphics cards and a few other things in them basically they will be cheap high end gaming pc's so i do think the game will run smoothly on the xbox two's, i dont know about the xbox one they might have to down play the game more for the one

People who think this is going to be simply an update to FSX are in for severe disappointment. The gaming model is totally different now. This is not going to be a flight sim you buy that comes in a box with a couple of DVD-ROMs. Those days are long gone. This new Flight Simulator will be, like _Microsoft Flight,_ an application that you buy and download from Microsoft. It's going to be heavily dependent on Microsoft online resources like Azure for location, graphics, and gameplay. There'll be a ton of DLC, but you'll only be able to buy it from Microsoft - no third-party developers. I wouldn't be surprised to see this sold as a subscription, like Office 365. And when Microsoft decides they don't want to host it anymore - also like _Microsoft Flight_ - they'll shut down their servers and you'll be left holding the bag.
