Exactly this. VR headsets already are capable, but limited by resolution and FOV.
@milannesic57184 жыл бұрын
If you think about AR through cameras, then, no thanks. That will be horrible in comparison. You don't see your body, arms, legs, you have terribly restricted FOV, and you are looking at a digital world image, instead of the real one
@nicktheg004 жыл бұрын
Milan Nesic No that’s not what we’re talking about. See through Hololens style AR that can instantaneously convert to full VR is what I mean, in a regular pair of glasses/eventually some sort of AR/VR contact lens hybrid solution that’s able to do both augmented and full virtual reality that encompasses your entire peripheral vision, with the ability to switch between either one at a whim.

One of my favorite things about AR is the potential to learn things on the fly. For example: I'm not a car guy but it would be awesome to have instructions come up in front of my eyes if I wanted to try and replace a part myself. Way better than going back and forth between KZbin videos. There's just so much potential. Also, I heard that they were making alterations so that it can take the temperatures of soldiers pretty much instantly using infrared laser or something like that. So much potential.

The tech is great. The only downside is when trying to emulate REALITY there was the failure to record the sound of an ACTUAL cat. I know it's really hard to come across a real cat, or use any of the countless videos of them on youtube. That lapse was jarring within the experience. And for the demo they really could have used a MUCH more realistic looking cat, no? I mean look at what unreal 5 is doing and then look at that cat. Is this a joke? For $3500, perhaps they could at least have a $3 cat.
