Hi there, I have just bought a new HL2 for work and started using it. However, I feel quite disappointed by the quality of the default menus, the field of view, etc... but it occurred to me maybe there is a problem with my headset? How could I possibly know or find out if there is something wrong with my new headset? I keep thinking that it was completely new, I unboxed it and set it up for optimal display using my eyes and gaze to adjust, etc... but I am seriously considering that perhaps something is wrong with it, otherwise this is not the magical headset with its highly advanced PC that everyone dreams of having. How would you go about this if you were experiencing such issues?

Hi there, interesting question. If you think there might be an issue with it it might be worth checking the troubleshooting page over on Microsoft's website: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/hololens/hololens-troubleshooting their is a list of known issues here that might be worth checking to see if your headset is experiencing any of these. If you need any further support i also recommend checking out the list of support options on this page docs.microsoft.com/en-us/hololens/hololens2-support . I hope this helps fix the issue.

It can be app dependant but, you can zoom in and out of 3D objects and images. when zooming in and out of the real world, this isn't something the HoloLens does natively. Though you could try saving an image with the RGB camera, enlarge it and place it in your scene.

The TCL ones are so much better. They are extremely way lighter and look like a normal pair of glasses so you can go out in public with them plus they will be affordable unlike Microsofts headsets

Only problem is Microsoft super slow to develop a consumer version of it. Looking at the hardware does not justify the 3k price tag.... Soon apple gonna release apple glass for consumers and will lead and change the game. Augmented reality glass hot serious potential for everyday use of the consumer version is less than 1k ...my best guess is by the time Microsofts management take a decision apple already gonna change the world just like iPhone

And now we've seen the apple glasses and it's just a VR headset at the same price trying to do what hololens does. Someone from Microsoft said they're years ahead of any competition and I kind of believe it. Hololens isn't VR it's tracking your eyes and shooting pixels of light at them so things appear to be real objects while you see normally through the clear glasses. It's been years since they first released and no one has figured out how to make a legitimate competing device.

I demo'd HoloLens 2. Can confirm that it's terrible and essentially useless. Lynx is the way to go. And hopefully Cambria within the next year.

From our review of the tech we saw this as more of a tool to enhance your everyday work life rather than a gaming system. Although there are games out there and AR as a gaming platform is slowly growing. Between HoloLens 2 and Magic Leap i would say Magic Leap is the more gaming focused device but most AR apps can be used on both. Two notable free AR games worth a try are Fragments a detective game and RoboRaid a first person shooter.

Ha ha Microsoft is a joke. I cannot even buy hololens because I am living in an EU country not listed by their "Buy" page. Well, I can still buy it, 'cause I have friends in other EU countries that happen to be listed. Arbitrary discrimination from Microsoft makes me feel not touching anything Microsoft.
