Microsoft & Quantinuum Just Changed Quantum Computing Forever: Meet the Logical Qubit
Did Microsoft and Quantinuum just make a breakthrough that will change quantum computing forever? In this video, we dive deep into their game-changing announcement about the logical qubit-a revolutionary step forward in the quantum computing world. Quantum computing has always held immense potential, but creating a reliable and stable qubit has been the biggest challenge. With this new innovation, we could be on the verge of seeing quantum computers that are scalable and practical for real-world applications.
Quantum computing is all about processing information at speeds that traditional computers could never match. Microsoft and Quantinuum have introduced the concept of the logical qubit, which could solve many of the problems that have hindered quantum technology from reaching its full potential. This could be the beginning of a new era in computing, with impacts on industries like healthcare, AI, cryptography, and more.
But what exactly is a logical qubit? And how does it differ from the qubits used in current quantum computers? In this video, we explain the importance of this breakthrough and what it means for the future of technology. We also explore how it could push quantum computing toward real-world applications faster than anyone expected.
What is a logical qubit? How does quantum computing work? How will Microsoft and Quantinuum's breakthrough impact the future of quantum technology? Why is the logical qubit important? Will quantum computers replace traditional computers?Watch to find out!

They just achieved "Deep Space Communications". 1st step.

This isn't entanglement and you need 150k qbits to be able to perform any sort of real operation.

The Microsoft Quantum Computing effort came to my attention . . . last march. Their "topological Quantum Computing" team announced that they are going into engineering phase instead of science. They said they expect have their first general Quantum Computer(as opposed to the special purpose DWave anealing machines) next March(March 2025). I also heard of this Logical qubits advances where they apply it to their ion trap Quantum Computer(there's many paths to Quantum Computers - ions, electron spin, superconductivity, photonics, and perhaps the most exotic of them all! Topological Qubits - kind of quasi particles; kind of non-Euclidean quantum particles that only exist in special conditions that generally don't happen in the natural universe!) Ope, looks like you mention their Topological Qubits program. Well, as you know they first tested their new quantum error correction method(Logical Qubits) on ion trap Quantum Computes. Then, they'll apply it to their Topological Qubits program! As stated, they originally said they'll make their first general programmable Quantum Computer by this up coming March. But, with this error correction advance, I'm thinking they can apply it to their Topological Qubit program fairly quickly. We could see the worlds first general purpose Quantum Computer sooner than March 2025!

The thing about the Topological Qubits approach is they can fit them on semi-conductor chips - not these superconducting chandeliers that take up a whole floor of a building. And, they work at room temperature. Imagine a Quantum Computer that you can hold in your hand and works at room temperature!

Very interesting but I would like to see Microsoft add mullite dimensional chips for quantum computers and 1000 chips with optical circuits.
