Crazy how expensive these knives are, cost 30$ too make that's why the clones are so attractive to an every day joe

Yes, we received a $40 clone of a Bounty Hunter because the customer thought it was real and sent it for us to look at. The knife was failing because the blade wasn't heat treated and was wearing out. The clones are great toys but they are not reliable, use inferior parts, and will wear out. Also, a real Microtech can increase in value over time. I'd rather spend $300 on a knife and sell it for $300 than buy a knife for $40 and lose $40. Clones aren't going away anytime soon; we just don't like seeing people buy clones thinking they are real... that's a real problem and it happens a lot.

The handles & switches are milled out of 6061-T6 billet aluminum. The electricity to run the milling machine alone cost more than $30 dollars plus the time & $$ it takes to pay a worker to mill the handles. Then the time & $$ it takes to pay a worker to make the blades. Microtech are a labor of love! That’s why there so much, not to mention what premium materials cost!
