Loved this video!! Only thing I recommend (coming from a 17+ year fireman) please please buy some HexArmor or Ringers extrication gloves…. I’ve shredded through Mechanix gloves on tiny pieces of jagged sheet metal while cutting cars. Just lookin out for ya ❤️ 🔪

Thanks for the tests. A tip on the way Ray from Microtech torture tests knives, put a mark/signature on it, and show through with each tests to help prove it’s the same knife. Just a suggestion.

Dropped mine from pocket heigth and G10 splintered off a long and narrow sliver at the edge of the knife. close to the stop pin. Glued it back with super glue, but kind of a bummer...

I love my MSI. The fixed ram lock is a thing of beauty. After some break in the action is incredible and it's one of the most stout locks I have ever used. I would recommend this knife over pretty much anything else in the price range.

I bought this knife and my only complaint on it is that the scales on it are not green inside they look greenish but they are tan. Almost the same color as the blade.

I love the msi and, of course, you crazy SMKW southern boys put it through its paces but how many different knives did you have to use to get the whole video to work as smoothly as it looked? I just noticed when you showed a close-up of the blade after torturing it for a while, the blade showed definite signs of change and maybe even a little dulling but I highly doubt anyone would be disrespecting their MSI like that so I don't get what your intentions were in the first place. They do make proper tools for most of what you were doing to that beautiful knife and most of us who work with our hands and do not just play make-believe for the sake of a KZbin video know that you use the proper tool for a specific job or else you start losing fingers. Never only bring a knife to a gun fight.

I also purchased mine from you guys.. Don't tap the spine on the back side of the knife because it will close up... Mine has accidentally shut several times after being in the locked position..... Very dissatisfied and disappointed...

Spine whack tests are pretty irrelevant to be honest. On a Ram Loc, the jimping on the top of the lock is where your thumb rests naturally. By placing your thumb there, you’re literally anchoring the lock in place with your thumb. That’s why it’s designed that way. But the fact that MT made a design change to fix internet created issues, is proof that the company listens to its audience. The same goes for frame locks. The lock is reinforced by your grip. When you spine whack test a frame lock by holding it the way people do, you’re not gripping the lock bar to anchor it. Again, internet created “problems” lol

Looks like you were pushing the lock in tight when spine whacking. If so, not really valid test. It´s not going to fail that way. Fingers off the lock, then spine whack test.

I just purchased a recently produced MSI and I'm extremely happy with it. One of my only concerns is that a previous ball bearing pivot knife that I owned, a Pro tech Malibu, had trouble deploying after I got cement dust in it when slicing open some bags of cement and the knife was wet.

Cutting concrete bags with any knife is bad…better to use a utility knife. I had to tear apart a benchmade after cutting open a pallet of concrete bags not one of my greater decisions 😂

Protech will probably clean it up and take care of it if you are confident in taking it apart. Also, considering it’s on bearings, it’s no wonder the concrete dust got in there.

Be careful adding a liquid to anything that has concrete dust in it. We suggest using air to clean it thoroughly first before adding any lube

It takes time getting used to axis locks or similar style locks, especially on close. Once you learn to do it one handed and keep your palm out of the blade tip path, you’re good.

_Paper cut testing is not ideal for sheer sharpness. Jmo. This thing with an actual tuned edge would have made everything you had done to it nearly twice as easy! it is also not going to exhibit a fail when you are clearly pinch gripping the locking mechanism!🤣🤣_ *Entertaining video none the less!*
