4:00 They very much do billboard on the Combat Troodon... You just happen to have the Ultem Signature Series in DLC and drop point that doesn't have it. Unless you get the shadow versions which are blank as well. My non gen 3 Scarab II's are Shadow series and are all sterile except a the Scarab on the pocket clip.

I just bought a Scarab 2 Generation 3 less than two months ago, the "Apocalyptic" stonewashed model. Very nice OTF! One of the pricier blades I've ever purchased. Initially I had quite a few misfires with it but the firing mechanism is now broken in a bit and it's been much more reliable.

For those that hate the blade branding, the D/E versions only say Scarab II on them and nothing else.

Just picked up the rereleased D/E-S version in all black from EKnives. Sold out in less than 3 minutes for both versions. It’s my first scarab so I had to pull the trigger.

Thank you so much for commenting on the blade play for the Scarab 2 Gen3. I bought mine directly from Microtech at Blade Show Atlanta and did not notice it til I got home. I own a Ultratech so I’m familiar with OTF’s but this was my first large blade. It concerned me at first because the play in the Scarab 2 Gen 3 is significantly more noisy than my ultratech. I went to SMKW and played with the Gen 3 Troodon, 3 of them, and they too have a little rattle to them as well. I’m wondering if this is because of the dual fuel system?

I will keep encouraging you to get a Maxace Neptune when they are back in stock. I think it will surprise you how tight the blade is and powerful deployment. And Tough as hell. Check out the punishment test here on YT. Thanks for the vid!

4:00 They mark up the regular Combat Troodons as much it more as the Scarab. Your Ultem knife is a higher end signature knife and all the rules go out the window as far as markings go. So you think the price difference is worth it over the Heretic Colossus or would I be better off saving some money with the Heretic?

@@danielhenderson8316 I’ve done a colossus video also and u think it is a fantastic knife as well. I think the quality is very on par and for the most part you’ll be good saving money with the Heretic and not be disappointed.

I'd say 99% of OTFs have blade play. I have a new Microtech Halo VI and Protech Dark Angel (both single action) that will lock up with no blade play. I wish the Halo wasn't fully serrated, but beggars can't be choosers. That Halo was my grail knife, and I'm so happy to own both of these extremely rare OTFs.

You literally have to pay Microtech not to put the branding on it! Your combat troodon is a signature series is why! My scarab 2 is a shadow (signature series) so no branding! They don't even fire underwater now because they are so much weaker!

A complete failure of a product. It claims to be for underwater use, but even in their official test video, it fails to function properly when placed in a water bucket.😂😂😂😂

Why would it fail these tests when the gen 1 could fire underwater? Also they claimed it would have the duel fuel system back then and it didn't.
