I received my Microwear L5 a few days ago. I can do a proper users review for any potential buyers. I will do the pros and cons. The pros: Great battery and especially great bluetooth range ( It stays connected even if I change rooms in my house away from the cell phone). The heart rate monitor works because I compared it to a real one and it is away only by 1 to 3 beats a minutes. The cool flashlight. The cons: The ECG is not precise nor to be trusted, the low pressure is good, but the high pressure is all wrong aways by 20-30. The gesture to ligth up the watch face does not always work and is a bit slow like 1 second. The magnetic connector charger is weak and you have to place carefully for charging. So overall I am very pleased with the Miicrowear L5 for the price I purchased the smartwatch (35$ US). I also have the Zeblaze Vibe3 and the bluetooth was very weak and it disconnect just a few feet away from the cell phone. But the Zeblaze Vibe3 casing is so well built and feels sturdy and the watch looks good on a medium to big size wrist. The Microwear L5 is less sporty, but it also weighs less. When will we get the perfect affordable watch below lets say 130$ that can do all this (Keep that flashlight it was a good idea... and why not add a 8mp camera!) and also it has to have bluetooth call and receive with a GPS and map keeping in mind that 5 to 7 days on one charge (not doing much GPS of course)? We don't need a watch to play video games or play videos on a watch, well not untill we come up with a better battery technology. That would be the perfect smartwatch for me and I guess for a lot of people. There is so much things being experienced in the world of smartwatches, how fascinating! I really believe in the future of smartwatches.

@@JAAJ-sm2nt You are doing nothing wrong. Indeed you cannot see all the text message if it is too long. You see the first few words. But I can telll you that I have the watch for a week on my wrist and using it always on bluetooth for notification and there is only 2 out of 6 lines of the battery gone. So for the price it is a very good watch. The bluetooth will also never fail you. For now it is a very good watch for me. I will probably invest in the Huawei Honor Magic 2 that is coming out in december. It seems to be worth the money. it will be around 200-215 US dollars. Go check it out if you want a watch that has bluetooth call and answer with great battery life.

Finally Mr. Tick i was able to got hold of this smart watch L5 on March 2, 2020, exactly my birthdate for less than 40 US Dollars! So far pretty impressive with its features. Just need to check and monitor the accuracy of the BP and heart rate. The flashlight is cool and unique. Thanks for the review. Looking forward to have my next smart watch thru your review guide.

Wow, I don't know about this specific watch, sorry. If I didn't cover it in the review, then it's probably not there. Often there's a "find your phone" feature but only sometimes does it have that notice when you are out of Bluetooth range.

1. No you can't change the time for how long the screen will switch on. But you can simply switch it back on by pressing the button or lift your wrist. 2. Messages or notifications will make it vibrate and switch on the screen but you can change that to vibrate only, switch on screen only, or both. 3. Notifications from whatsapp, emails and such only shows who sent it.. usually it shows few first words of the texts contained in the notifications/ messages. In the end you can't read the whole texts unless you get your phone and read it. Sorry I can't post any photos in this comment section. But what I can say is that this watch has very accurate steps count, HR sensor, sleep measure (compared with samsung health app but need to bring it to sleep) and bluetooth connection never fails. Believe me I have never disconnected the bluetooth connection of my L5 with my old s7 edge from day one. Never once they disconnected. I can also connects my phone to other devices as well without interrupting the connection with my L5 such as to my car radio and I can just control music with my watch.

I like the sedentary and water intake remind tho. It's really useful especially when I'm at work. I set it to always remind me about sedentary every 1 hour I'm being inactive and it is accurate no matter how many hand movements I made. I can also set up to 5 alarms where it will vibrate the watch. The vibration is kinda weak and short tho, but I can manage with it cuz my work involves meeting customers face to face and having a watch that makes loud vibration would be awkward..

I had the same problem. Just leave it connected for a long time and it should start up. I had to try mine several times. It appears to be hard to reach their firmware server. It might be available only certain times of the day.

I personally like the L5 a lot better. The flashlight really maes it for me. Of course, it all depends on what you will use the watch you get for in your life, so check the reviews again as to what each one will do and make sure you're getting the right one for you.

I try and inform the basic of these devices. It's up to others who are interested in them to go further with checking accuracy, battery life, Bluetooth range, etc. Look for KZbin channels that take things to the next level. Mine is about introductory information.

No thanks. It claims to do ECG and it tethers to the Fundo Pro app. ALL other ECG watches and bands I've tested that tether to Fundo FAKE the ECG reading, which is a serious health risk to the public. I won't review watches that are known to be fake.

I have noticed that this watch is sold under several different brand names: Microwear (as seen here), Lemfo, Z&H, Lokmat, SUPP (lol), Bacony (yum!), and sometimes it's also unbranded, just 'L5.' It comes in a generic box that just says Smart Wear. I wonder who actually makes this watch. Come to think of it many watches are sold under different brand names and you gotta wonder how the arrangement is with these watches. Does a single company make them as OEM/ODM products that are sold to different companies to brand and resell? Or are all these companies just one company? I recently bought an automatic watch that's got the Lige branding last month and just the other day I was surprised to see it being sold as a Tevise. I thought Lige was independent but one with Naviforce (because they share the same slogan and I reckon also some watch cases). So yeah, I'm just curious how this all works.

That is exactly what our American pilot friend Jason, the guy who designed the "Kronos Blade Janus" watch, which has been copied by Lokmat, Kospet, and now even Zeblaze, is trying to find out. It looks like there are a few factories, or 'solution providers' that work up the samples and final approved designs, then they are wholesaled to various companies for rebranding. Some multiply far and wide, while some are giveaways at trade shows due to lack of interest. Anyway, Jason has made some great discoveries and is working on a fantastic new design which is being tooled at a factory right now. @@SWT I just ordered a Lokmat (KW19?? I don't know if they even gave it a model #) and a Lokmat watch that's pretty much the Microwear L5 (even the box is the same) through an online platform in my country and when I asked the seller for a photo of the boxes, the 'KW19' box didn't even seem like it had 'Lokmat' on it. Seemed generic, and just sold by Lokmat directly from an ODM. I hope it'll be a good watch because I'm giving both watches away. The L5 I've already seen many people buy, but the KW19 is a bit of a question mark. 🤔

I want a Smartwatch with sleepmonitoring of 24 Hours because of shiftwork. Best would be a Monitor with On/Off function. Most Watches - like this one - are limited to the Night.

Wow, I haven't studied sleep monitoring on watches to that detail. Tell you what, check out the app "Sleep As Android" on your phone and see if it will handle what you want. It's pretty cool in what it can do, and there are some watches that interface with it which will give you round the clock info.

I have that same smartwatch here in the Philippines. Bought it in Shopee; which can also be found in lazada 😁👍 Btw, do you know how to stop fundo app from running even though i pressed 'force stop'? Also, the 24hr time format 🤔

Unfortunately, Fundo is not very nice with releasing control. It wants to always run so you stay linked. I usually uninstall it after a review that uses it because it slows down my phone and eats power. I hope they fix that soon. Yes, it relaunches itself even when you force quit. Oh, and it's not the only one that behaves that way, but some don't.

@@SWT I uninstalled mine too! This smartwatch is a great alternative to xiaomi although it lacks some features which can be seen in amazfit bip(which i also own) like: always on ambient display, 12hr time format, more accurate step counter, 60++ days standby time, also 'raise your hand' feature is a bit slow. Still a good smartwatch 😁 Thank you for your reviews kind sir!

Hello Mr. Ticks, how's it going? Greetings from Brazil =) Tell me about that flashlight, right! You can wake up in the middle of the night and your wife will have no idea ;P I got this one in January (took only 18 days from the purchase to the unboxing, we have reached the future indeed). It looks amazing and worked perfectly until a few days ago when I decided to update the firmware via Fundo app. It won't turn on again and Microwear has no support. Do you have any idea of how to proceed our where I could find the information? Thanks in advance, PX

I thought I had the same problem. My watch appeared dead. It was because the installation didn't work the first time. You need to try and reconnect the phone app to the watch and give a long time for the phone to try and download and install the update again. That is the only way I know because the firmware isn't available directly and there is no way I know of to connect the watch directly to a computer for flashing.

Ah! I made sure the watch was on the charger for a couple of hours first, and left it on the charger while doing the connect thing.

Maybe I buy a different color so I can have a spare pair of straps =) THANKS for the help, tho. I've been watching your videos since I decided to buy a smart band for my wife last year. Agreed,how about the Samsung galaxy with nano SIM, 4g capabilities and beefed up storage. P.s. with a7 hr. Time difference and raucous roosters you still reply in minutes - an aptly named insomniac " Mr. Tics". P.p.s 'floating toucher" the best third party app not available in the play store worthy of its own review.
