I just got a wifi water timer and Eden sprinklers. Looking at a peat moss spreader now. My lawn came back after all that rain. The wife is already talkn bout the high water bill for next summer😂. I ordered some of that Barenbrug tall fescue seed.

Preemergent......I am researching and will hopefully be successful when I apply spring, 2025. I would prefer to use liquid as that is easy for me and not confident enough to use granular and might burn my lawn. Can you please provide the steps I should take. I know timing is important and will purchase a soil themometer, then get to work. Thanks.

Welcome back! Hope you had a great vacation. That grass is popping green! I applied spectracide hose end sprayer weed killer about 2 weeks ago. Weeds have gotten less, but I'm still noticing some spots of nutsedge popping up again. I wanted to apply another round, but my grass got very brown in some spots that I sprayed. We haven't gotten much rain, and I've tried to water as much as I can. I also bought sta green 10-10-10 fertilizer as you suggested to me in one of my comments on another video of yours. Haven't put it on the lawn yet. Would you suggest I hold off on applying the spectracide again?

@gmen-sd8ok Thank you. You can spray once again if you need to. Some weeds may need 2 applications. But keep mowing regularly and fertilizing the lawn and that'll help the lawn get thicker and also crowd out weeds. Are you planning to overseed this fall?

We just got back from vacation as well. We've got some clover and some other weeds around here but not planning on doing anything until September. Plan to overseed abit in the bare areas. Not sure if I should put down fertilizer and some sort of weed spray as well ?

@angrygaragemechanic when you put the seed down, make sure you don't spray the weed killer on the seed

But you used the Shady mixture, but I see that there is the Sun & Shade one. I'm going to overseed my lawn and I don't know which of those two to use. My lawn will grow more in the sun. I can’t tell what kind of grass I have but I want to seed tall fescue without having to pull up the existing grass. After I get the weeds together would you advice I just seed the grass I want without getting rid of the old grass???

Where do you live? Is it a hot or cold climate? You can overseed the grass with the seed of choice and eventually it'll over take the lawn unless you have bermuda grass. That grass type is tough to get rid of

@@LawnAmateurI live in Southern California where it’s hot but it can get cold during certain months. I really want tall fescue because I’m not a fan of Bermuda or st Augustine which I think I have a sprinkle of both in my font yard.

The crabgrass will die after the first frost, apply some prodiamine in the early spring it will keep the new crabgrass seeds that got released from your present crabgrass from germinating
