While the mid century modern look is not my thing, I LOVE the room! I like decor that is not all matchy matchy. I like for a room to look like that, while my style/taste has remained fairly consistent, the pieces in my room were assembled over a lifetime. Inherited/gifted pieces, new purchases, DIY’s, thrifting finds... That is exactly what you have accomplished!

Beautiful! Of the two options, I like the wooden lamp by the couch best -- it fills the space well and plays nicely with the color of the shelf and couch. It looks grounded, like it belongs. 👍🏼👍🏼 To my eye, the brass lamp (which I love!) sort of got lost when it was over there. 😊

Looks AMAZING, Lynette!!!!! I agree...I think the wooden lamp is a better scale for that area by the couch. (Plus, I love how the legs of the lamp compliment the legs of the stool!) I can also eventually see one or two larger sized pictures on the hanging shelf for scale on that wonderfully big wall!! 😃❤️👍. Love how this is unfolding!!!

Love, love, love the wooden lamp by the sofa! I think the other lamp looks overpowered by the largeness of the sofa: the wooden one holds its own space better. I’m so excited for you that your living room came together so beautifully! You inspire me to make my home more warm and welcoming since I tend toward a spartan look, sometimes to the point of too many bare walls and coldness.

Absolutely beautiful! You have great style! You asked our opinion on the placement of the lamps- I feel like the wood base lamp should go over by the sofa and brass lamp by the chairs. The reason is because the wooden one is larger and there is more space by the couch. There is already a lot going on with the shelves and so the brass lamp doesn’t detract or fight with that. Just my opinion. Thanks for sharing😍

Ps. I had a tip for you..😄I tried Lands End tank tops for under tops..they are are as high in the neck and back as a tee shirt, but no sleeves and 100% cotton ..so cooler for Fla. Lynette, I loved seeing your excitement today on the vlog about your beautiful living room. We did our living room last year and bought new furniture for it. We were so excited to show it off. For us it is the center of home where we all gather to celebrate. I still have to get some pictures or shelving for the room. We have a bay window which I love putting plants in.
