Move the fuel cell to under the hood of the car for weight distribution and for space in the cockpit you can extend the front end in front of the firewall it's more work but for driving it's much better and more comfy

I feel like you would get alot more cabin room by getting a fuel cell for the front of the car, then you could move the seats back alot further, but I've seen you pull some crazy things off and have no doubt you'll get it figured out, awesome build! knew the fast back idea was going to come back at some point after the last one lol

also you could tilt that main hoop back, idk how building a cage really works but if it's allowed it seems like it would be an easy way to grab some space

fuel in the front of the car in not a very good idea, both for safety and for handling.

@@pavementpariah7342 what manufactures put fuel tanks in the front of the car? And if it was in a baffled fuel cell sure? But you would have fuel moving from one side of to the other in the front end of the car… that doesn’t really equate to better handling.

I'm really excited to see this project unfold as I am also huge 67-73 Mustang fastback fan. As a suggestion, you could make the rear glass (plus the sheet metal around it) and trunk lid one piece. That would make it like a hatchback so you can gain better access to the engine once you get the body on it.

I saw the "fender Flare" video first, then came here - - there was NO reason to center the rear fender around the tire !! Get the desired driver's seat position and get the windshield/dash the correct, comfortable distance forward, say six inches forward, and build from there. Mid-engine cars often have the rear tires further back anyway.

Surprised you don’t just move the fuel cell to the front where the engine would be normally , especially since this car is likely to 40-60 weight which is awful for rwd. Would also give you a lot more room for seating by pushing the bulk head back. Need to push a lot of weight to the front.
