I looked part 1 and a bit confused, how come you have wood under drywall? I am planning to do slat walls and many people just attach it with glue and nails to drywall but I am not sure that this will keep it secure really

In my case, it's just because I didn't remove the old wood panels and added dry wall over them instead. I'm not sure what the best way is but since the slats are held vertically and say, compared to hanging from the ceiling, there isn't much force trying to pull them off the wall if they're well secured. So if I had not had wood underneath the dry wall, I think I might still have just used glue and brad nails. Maybe glued it more. It's just a guess, I didn't research it from that perspective. With some research, you'll have a good idea. Good luck!

@@MidCenturyStyle thank you. I tried to do research and seems like most people just glue and nail things to drywall

You should also use a coat of pre-stain. This will help keep your stain more even.

Hi Scott. Actually I did, as you can see in the video, and it made a difference. I just didn't know at first how to stain, being a newbie at this. The pre-stain coat might have provided a bigger benefit if I didn't wait so long between coats. First-timer's mistake I guess.

he also should've used the smaller side of the slat as spacing. It's way too apart

wait, what is that Apple Watch face ?

Ahah... I use my watch as a camera display (open the camera) to adjust my position before shooting and sometimes I leave it on for quick reference while I move around. Good catch! (otherwise it's the standard face in blue)
