IT WAS a glorious Sunday recently when the 'ol Volvo Brickwagon took part in my buddy Rukshan's MY Classic Cars (find them on Facebook) group had a drive to Genting Highlands. It had been a long time since the 245 went out for a drive and I gotta say, she's still performing brilliantly :)

Thanks for loading this video.. Brought alot of fond memories of 80s. Seriously i would really like to interview these owners who owns models beyond time where the parts & the experts to repair are totally scarce..... They really took care of it to the original as its near to impossible these days. I had a KE70 some time ago and need to let go due to the original part scarcity but those are the time before the internet era :)

the Renault 12 reminded of my father's friend that brought us to the art classes during my primary school! I like the 'tik tok tik tok' sound of the corner light indicator when the stalk is pushed up or down! Fantabulous cars, what a reminiscence of old school days!

That ford escort is nice. Brings back memories. My dad had a escort 1.3gt, my late grandfather used a escort 1.6 ghia. I learn to drive using those cars.

Great video! U Malaysians are damn lucky to be able to keep such old cars running and at reasonable cost. In Singapore, the COE system has brought all these old cars to the scrape yard and keeping cars of these age on the road in SG would be prohibitively expensive as cars above 40 years old would need to be registered under the classic car scheme, and u can only drive the car for like 40 days in a year.

Gorgeous set of cars Chris. Your opinion please. I have a Passat 1.8 TSI from 2012 with the dreaded piston problem. She eats engine oil as a result. After BS from VW I found a reputable specialist that does an overhaul (with branded forged pistons) for slightly north of 10k. Worth doing it? Or just keep her as is and sell in time? (She is a fine car to drive ...never gave me any other issues) thanks 😊
