Omg, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, is in my July TBR and I'm so excited to read it. It makes me so happy that it's your best read so far ☺️✨ Edit: So I read Tomorrow ×3 and I just have to say that it put me on a phenomenal journey that I will never forget. It's one of the best books I've ever read and I'm so grateful that I came across it!

The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida was one of my last years favorite books. It hit close to literal home, because the situation in Sri Lanka reminded me of my home country, that I had to flee from because of it (I'm Bosniak). It's also in second person and the reason why is even explained. All in all the book is infomative, well written and the charakters are multi-layered (Jaki ❤). P.S. I'm with you with the crush on Montgomery.

You’ll love The World We Make! It’s fantastic

Read the World We Make this year! So far my fav book of 2023! Love it as much as the first one!! I'm a huge fan of N.K . Jemisin's writing and the amount of creativity and ingenuity that she conveys through her story, the sequel was no different! More character development for all of the main characters (they had more equal page time for all the MC and R) + the antagonist, managed to flesh them out even more and make them feel more real and human (which I didn't think at first possible). Personally I gave it 10/10. Alsooo planning to add Tomorrow 3x to the top of my tbr after your review! So excited! 🥰🥰

Your video was so on point! I loved Happy Place but had really low expectations since I didn’t like Book Lovers at all and haven’t read her other books 😂 In the Dreamhouse was amazing. Queen Charlotte (the show) had me by an absolutely chokehold!! I just started Before I Let Go and like it so far.
@hannahandherstories Жыл бұрын
I personally thought The World We Make was not as strong as The City We Became (which was my favorite read of last year), but I still had such a fun time being back in N. K. Jemisin’s writing and creative world. I have also discovered a new love of literary satire! I ate up Disorientation and of course loved Yellowface this year.

I also read In the Dream House and it is among one of the best books I've read this year. Also there is a book called The Archaeology of Loss which is on my TBR and I added it because I was intrigued by the synopsis, so you could check that out if you're interested.

Unfortunately I agree with you regarding Happy Place. I've only just discovered Emily Henry in the last 6 months so was excited to get into Happy Place. It wasn't terrible, just not as good as Book Lovers etc. for me. I also loved Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow and have The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida on my TBR.

Favorite book so far: the giver of stars by JoJo Moyes Biggest disappointment: really sorry to say, tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. I may have commented this previously when you talked about reading it, but the tone was just too sad for me. Beautiful writing and I totally understand why many people love it! Biggest surprise: Beach read. For some reason I thought I wouldn’t like it, and I ended up giving it five stars.

My favorite book of 2023 so far is probably Hell Followed With Us by Andrew Jospeh White (though it's so hard to pick!) As a trans person, I loved the portrayal of transness in this one, and it's really stuck with me. My least favorite is hands down Aphrodite Made Me Do It, which was a terrible poetry collection that I honestly don't think counts as poetry. Poorly written, and the poems were so short and spaced out that there was barely any content despite the book being 200+ pages. I haven't read any of the books you talked about yet, but I'm hoping to get to Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by the end of the summer!
