Locke and Jean have one of the best friendships in fiction! Oh wow, I'll have to brace myself for whenever I get to Fool's Errand. I'm going to wait to share my favorite book in my Mid-Year Tag, but in case things change, I'm waiting until it's truly the middle of the year or right after. 😅

Only just got to this video now, but I loved hearing all your answers!! Really hope your Stormlight journey continues to be amazing, I can't wait for Wind & Truth! And heeeck yes for Locke & Jean, I miss them so much and I desperately need new content with them (or maybe I should just reread lol). Speaking of rereads, your reactions to RotE are making me want to go through that rollercoaster all over again 🤣🤩 My favourite book of 2024 is a toss-up between Hell for Hire by Rachel Aaron and A Love Song for Ricki Wilde by Tia Williams!

I’m waiting to pick up book 3 with Locke and Jean because I’m not ready for it to be over… and I think the world will shut down in Dec when Wind and Truth comes out! I love this tag 😍 My fav book of the year is Mary by Nat Cassidy other 5 stars: Three Apples Fell from the Sky by Narine Abgaryan, Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu, Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh, The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng, A Ladder to the Sky by John Boyne. I would like to reread 3 and finish 4 of Stormlight archives books before 5th comes out :) For the last 2 years, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand has been looking steadily at me, so the time has come And I have Reina roja by Juan Gómez-Jurado and La sombra del viento by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, I should love both of these. I just give myself a month or two to better my Spanish 🤞 And The Bone Shard Daughter looks really good
@JAKandtheBookStack

Me too! I always get some great suggestions for my TBR! Wow Mary was one of my favorite reads last year, so I am so glad you enjoyed it! I think we might be bookish twins - I am also making my way through Stormlight Archives this year, planning for book 3 in July, and I adore Ayn Rand. Fountain Head will be massive, but I think it is amazing. And of course... Spanish is also something I am working on! Lots of Spanish books are making their way into my TBRs! (More like children's books for my level though)
@tiutiukas
@tiutiukas Ай бұрын
@@JAKandtheBookStack Well, my Spanish level is only B1 (maybe very very optimistical B2, on a good day). But I am brave 😊I was told instead of children's books, to read short classics or translated books you've already read and know the story, so even if you can't understand every single word, you can follow the story. And if you overplay with a dictionary, you don't forget what happened. So I am just rolling with it 😁 I have a Spanish translation of The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Big font and under 200 pages 😊Does not look scary😆 And I will read Fountainhead... soon. I am glad you liked it, it gives me hope, that I will too 🤗
@JAKandtheBookStack
@JAKandtheBookStack Ай бұрын
@@tiutiukas Well you are stronger in Spanish than I am! I am in A2 classes right now. I have some Spanish Rohl Dahl books like Matilda, I am excited to get to those. Have you read Ayn Rand before? Fountain will be long and slow paced, but I really enjoyed the philosophy and writing.
@tiutiukas
@tiutiukas Ай бұрын
@@JAKandtheBookStack I've not read any Ayn Rand, but I own 3 audiobooks of her and only a physical copy of Fountainhead, so I should start 😁 I own the Spanish book Todo Manolito by Elvira Lindo (it is an omnibus of six books about a boy Manolito) which technically is a children's book, but the vocabulary is not all that basic. Plus it is satire and I lack the vocabulary and cultural knowledge to get the jokes, so that one just has to wait 😅
@JAKandtheBookStack
@JAKandtheBookStack Ай бұрын
@@tiutiukas that will be such a great goal for Spanish though! You have a good point satire will be hard to pick up on in another language. I’m so excited we connected! we can exchange study resources and tips! I found some great Spanish audio book options too on Libby if you have that app!
