I downloaded your spreadsheet a few years ago and have been playing around with to fit my reading more :D So far my reading has been going okay, lots of three star "just okay" reads. I've marathoned some series where I probably should have stopped myself earlier but persevered for a few titles too many. I think I'm proudest of the fact that I read 19 titles by nonbinary authors (almost 10%!). I have been reading mostly ebooks this year but I want to shoft my focus a little on the physical books I own.

That is so many non-binary authors, that's awesome. I get you on carrying on with 3 star books, I'm far more likely to DNF one I think might get 2 than one that's just okay.

Sophie: “yeah so I only read like 70 books last year. Which isn’t a lot as to what I normally read..” Me to Me: omg Sophie thinks 70 books is not a lot😨…70 is a big number I’m just saying lol😂I like how you set up your goals though. You want to accomplish them but you want to do so in a manageable way. Ahhh 2016 omg I can’t believe people still comment on those videos but then again I’m not surprised because you’re just an amazing person. I seriously feel like re-watching your videos from back in the day haha😅mostly because it has been a while since I’ve seen your older videos. I remembered when you first started booktube. You are just a ray of sunshine and I appreciate how honest and real you are in your videos. It’s not an easy thing to do but it does help others like myself knowing that I’m not alone when it comes to my mental health and well being. I hope you are doing well throughout this whole pandemic. Do you still have to wear your mask where you live at or no? Idk if the vaccine is in your country or not but if it is have you gotten it or are you like me and others and just wearing the mask, and staying 6 ft apart, and just washing your hands etc..? I hope you and your family and friends are doing good throughout this hard time.💞💞

Ahaha, it's not a lot for my usual reading but it's still definitely a lot of books!! I do think with goal setting it's being flexible for yourself, there's no point working towards something you don't want to do anymore. God, I don't know if I could hack watching my old videos back, I think they must be really cringey now. We're doing okay thanks, all double jabbed and we are still wearing masks (though the Government is about to stop that being a requirement (eye roll).)

Thank you for the update! :) I started using your spreadsheet this year and I'm so so happy with it! It's so cool to get a better overview over one's reading habits. This year has been a good reading year so far (57 books as of today). But I have a few slightly conflicting reading goals: 1. I want to reduce my physical TBR to under 10 books (started the year at 32, am now at 15) 2. I want to have a page average of above 300 pages per book at the end of the year (right now its 275) 3. I started goodreads in 2018 and this year I want to read all the books I added to my GR-shelves in 2018 or delete them at the end of the year (started the year with 18, am now at 9). These goals are conflicting, because to reduce my TBR and read as many 2018 books as quickly as possible, it makes sense to prioritize shorter books - but to have a page average of above 300 pages, I obviously should prioritize longer books. :D And the whole point of the >300 pages goal was to care less about the number of books I tick of my TBR-lists and really enjoy longer books. :D

Oh brilliant! That is hard having some conflicting goals- maybe it's worth seeing which you want more than others at the moment- or choosing one to focus on for a little bit? I guess sometimes goals do work against each other.

@@SophieIslington Oh choosing a different one to focus on is good tip! Maybe I‘ll alternate it monthly or something like that :) Thank you!

I'm using your spreasheet (thank you so much!) and also the Storygraph. I like the stats on the Storygraph but they're not as comprehensive as yours.

Yes, she always makes a new one a year and shares it for people to use. If you go back in her videos to January or December you should find her showing a few of the features and the link.
