well to be honest the tank sion playstyle was really sick. wont judge on it being skilled or not, but dying over and over yet still destroying the entire enemy base is unhealthy for the game while being unkillable due to HP stacking, it just shouldnt work like that. even if it's an actual strategy, you shouldn't win by letting the opponent destroy you in lane.

I think baus should start playing more gragas, it's an actual viable champion in the meta and he is really good with him and able to carry very well he always manages to make insane plays with gragas and its much easier to win lane or atleast not lose it with gragas

He can't. It's a money thing. He's a streamer, his income is based on what the audience wants, and his audience would rather him loose with the nerfed Sion than win with anything else. He's commented on it. His subs while winning with other champions are noticeably lower than losing with Sion. It gets even worse in the breakdown though. He can play Sion straight, he has played Sion straight. He's won while playing Sion like he should be played, to great effect. But the money is lower there too. He's just hosed. People want to see him play Sion the way he used to play Sion, and the nerf made sure he can't. He's in a catch-22. Try to salvage inting Sion somehow, which is what people pay him for, or climb and not have money to live on. He's not in general happy with it.

The strategy became super popular and a lot of people replicated it as a result, many messing up their games that made their team upset. Thebaus really leaned into the meta riot created with hullbreaker, demolish, split pushing. I don't think it was a good meta, but he found one of the best ways to take advantage of it. Which is exactly what you should do if you're looking to go challenger right? He still has very good Sion mechanics and macro, the only real question is if he could get more value out of other picks now that the core of the Sion strategy is dead. I just think his play style is still too anchored in the old meta, he needs to change it up or change champion. Also dunno about the Voli ults in this game, he seems to just press it on cooldown >_

The voli hard stopped the sion from playing the game. Voli definitely knew what he was doing. He was also so tanky that his Ult was pretty safe to use, and he was the main engage for his team since they had a range toplaner, an enchanter support, and a mage mid.

Dying, but still getting the objective is faster than living, resetting, setting up another push, maybe having to reset again. But dying and not getting the objective is even slower. Since you can't die and reliably get anything now, hes basically just adding 16xdeath timer seconds to his game where he is doing nothing. I just don't see him getting to challenger with that much dead time in his games in this meta.

Which might sound good on Paper, but in Actuality Sion, is not going to be Useful on a Teamfight till Mid-Late game, and at late game he Rarely Pops off due to his limitations. Easy to Deny Q, So Many true damage Items/Skills Etc. All in All the nerf is just a Salty thing to do.

Inting sion is not an easy pick. Bauss was the only one good enough to pull it off all the way to challenger, many have tried all but him failed. The nerfs are a middle finger to the low elos that try inting sion without a strategic plan. Sadly tho the nerf stems 100% from the popularity of bauss and also probably from his Korean climb. I bet some players complained directly to riot ahah

I wish riot revamp the economy side of the game. Apply secure gold (from takedowns) and unsecured gold (minions and neutral monsters). The secure gold wont be lost if champ dies and unsecure gold reduced depending on lvl (like 80%-20% the less gold lost as you lvl up). You need to base and buy items (unsecured gold will be spent before secure gold). It will induce a more aggressive plays like if someone is getting more CS, support or jg punish that person to deny gold meaning there is no farming bonanza on pro games and end game like minimal deaths and all farming all game and ending for 1 baron play. That will kill this inting Sion for sure.

Baus is a good player but I think his mental is just boomed and he refuses to play anything else. He can for sure get chal just playing Gragas, but he really enjoys this playstyle and refuses to abandon it. Honestly curious if he’s considered playing like Tryndamere or something. Doesn’t help that his chat cries nonstop when he’s playing something other than Sion. I thought he had some really cool ideas with Volibear but sadly it didn’t work out.

It somewhat feels bad because I truly don't believe Sion needed any nerfs, I don't even think he was good until hullbreaker was introduced. Sion has virtually no decent matchups and you have to play almost perfect macro to make him work. A better idea I think would've been not allowing demolish in Sion passive and that's it. The dura patch just put a nail in the coffin lmao

his lvl 1 death was good becasue he had tp into exhaust, wich means he could set up a kill on draven after tp back to lane. this is the only way to win lane in a loosig machup. by killing draven after dying, he had the opportunity to push out lane and get a lvl advantage, and maybe even a plate. that is how the snowball is made
