Angus actually said so in an interview - he expanded on it by saying anyone could do what he does, some flash tricks, some fast fingers, some hammer ons/hammer offs - but to do what Malcolm did, be the foundation & commit to it, took a rare talent. Malc, you are sorely missed mate - hope you are kicking it's arse up there in Valhalla.

in 95 I was 13 yrs old and bought my first cd via magazine mailorder; The newly released Ballbreaker by AC/DC. I have seen them live twice. one in a closed stadium and one in an open air concert in a big field outside the city. Both were epic! I do wish I was alive to witness Bon Scott though. Their early stuff was always my favourite....
@whome12994 күн бұрын
Yeah, I saw that on the Flick of the Switch tour. Angus riding through the crowd on Brian's shoulders was so famous at their shows at the time. So cool to watch. I saw guy overdose on heroin in the women's bathroom. Dude in front of me jumped off the balcony into the crowd below. Preachers heckling everyone coming in thag they were going to hell for worshipping "devil music." 😂 My parents let me skip school to go see them. 🤘Been an AC/DC fanatic since age 13. Wrote them fan mail and everything back then.😂 TNT was my first song. Never stopped listening since. Powerage is my favorite. Hells Bells. Bon has the edge, but I couldn't live without either one of them.

I say this so often. I got to see them so many time with Bon as a teenager in Melbourne in the mid 70’s. They were my first rock concert! We were addicted to the feeling of their music coming up through our feet, it was amazing. And Bon, what a frontman! He oozed charisma and always had a naughty twinkle in his eye which is why we never went backstage as we looked older than 14 and we didn’t want to get a bad name. But he was incredible on stage, and will always be their frontman to me!! We were just so lucky to see them as often as we did. They were a tight band, even then.

No issues with either vocalist. The band just cooks. But truth be told, this and long way to the top are my 2 fav acdc songs. The world lost what may have been the best front man when Bon Scott passed. Brian is awesome as well, and is perfect for the second era of ACDC. Lots of similarities between the 2 eras of ACDC and Van Halen. 2 eras, 2 singers, 2 different sounds, more commercial success with the 2nd singer. But both were the very best of the best in their eras.

So true! I'm too young to remember Hendrix & Morrison. Terrible losses. Janice, too. 😪 Elvis died 2 months after I saw him. SRV died two weeks after I saw him. Dusty Hill died three DAYS before I saw ZZTop. Lemmy Kilmister died 3 days before I had tickets to see him. Bret Michaels hit a deer and wrecked his tour bus less than an hour after I told him to be careful & stay safe after a concert. Brian Johnson left AC/DC due to hearing loss issues the night I saw them. So...Am I cursed, or just old?

And not all rap music is a negative influence. I do agree that maybe, some music in every genre might not should be available for children that are not mature enough to understand these are just songs, cool a.f. songs yes they are, but they're not songs people need to be implemented in to their life style. Man, some of these kids take the lyrics to heart and use them as a guide to live by. Maybe that maturity tag isn't a bad idea after all. Don't hate on the artist, or the music, just make sure the kids are cool, right?

A few years earlier, Queen had done an in your face "can't be played on the radio" song that didn't leave you guessing what on the agenda, but a lot of groups were making songs that they knew would have no "airtime" Queen - Get Down, Make Love (Official Lyric Video) - most people would use certain terms and phrases so it could get radio play and the old fuds at the FCC wouldn't be the wiser. If you really listen to the lyrics of MANY popular songs, they have sexual innuendos throughout them, - Donna Summer 1975 “Love to Love You Baby,” (the 17minute version) Marvin Gaye 1973 “Let’s Get It On,” - Led Zepplin = Lemmon Song - Aretha Franklin 1967 “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)," - Solomon Burke 1965 “Tonight’s The Night,” - Etta James 1961“I Just Want to Make Love to You,” - Peggy Lee 1958 “Fever,” - Bessie Smith’s 1931 blues song “Need A Little Sugar in My Bowl” Dude there are thousands, even every day songs that seemed innocent on the radio...

There was a reason for mainstream media in the USA to avoid playing a *touch too much* of anything sexual or otherwise from 1947 - 1989. It was called the Fairness Doctrine. If you were a kid in the 1960's there was no way you would see or hear anything sexually specific unless your parents had a movie projector and some underground films. :D

Without wanting to be "that old guy," I grew up with the band, in that the first record I bought was High Voltage, aged about...I dunno, maybe 12 or so. At the time, AC/DC were every parent's nightmare. These boys played hard, and partied harder. They constantly pushed out the boundaries of what was acceptable in the Australia cultural norms of the times. Bon dressed as a school girl in an appearance on Countdown. Angus dropping his pants on stage. Songs touching on subjects that were just so "out there" in the 1970's. But what gets so easily forgotten is just how good these boys could play, and write. Malcolm and Angus had a magnificent musical pedigree, Bon had been playing with other bands for 10 years or more before he joined AC/DC. Phil Rudd & Cliff Williams were as tight as rhythm sections get. Each album got hotter, louder, and more inventive. Highly recommend you check out songs like "Let There Be Rock," "Riff Raff," and deep cuts like "Beating Around The Bush," "Kicked In The Teeth," "Shot Down In Flames". Rock on
