@@jeremycoleman318 I was born in 1973, and it is definitely relevant to me. Those of us born in the late Sixties and early Seventies have a very deep connection. If you don't feel that for your generation now, you will.

@@jeremycoleman318 actually, just now, I would have skipped over it had it not been for the title. I am a subscriber to this wonderful channel, but I am not always in the mood to watch a restoration video. Sometimes I want to watch something else at the time. However, the title DID catch my eye and piqued my curiosity because I, too, am middle aged...if I live to be 100. I'm glad it did. It was an even more nostalgic restoration than usual! ❤️

What a wonderful film. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us. My mother (who is in her late 80's) has two very old wood cabinets that belonged to her father. An old geezer really enjoyed the middle aged man restoring the dull box and especially your memorabilia tribute! Perfect leaving the top and sides patina with a strong new bottom and your finishing is always superb. Nice touch with the leather handle but might have used some brass patina cup washer & fasteners instead of the rivets...great either way! Thanks for all your great vids and sharing your techniques. It was never a dull box. It was well made and given reasonable care, and a man in his prime had a good enough eye to see its potential and polish it up a little. The beauty of the birch just sings with the finish you have given it, and the handle is true to both its time and purpose. Another nice restoration from our favourite channel!

Lovely video, Ahti. Sharing your family memorabilia with us. The dull box transformed into a thing of beauty, complete with its own history. Lookng at the card from 1929, people always had beautiful writing back then. When I went to a war memorial and looked at the letters sent from the trenches, the writing from the authors was flawless. Amazing when you consider they were under fire and in such terrible conditions.

I adore wooden boxes of all sizes, shapes and uses. You made this beautiful once again. It will make the most amazing memory box for your customer and I’m sure they will be delighted with it. I especially loved seeing your own memories from Estonia. As a child in the sixties living in the UK, we knew nothing of places like Estonia, they weren’t even heard of being just another place behind The Iron Curtain. It’s great to be able to share life’s memories and moments with people over the internet that we’d never dreamed we’d know. Thank goodness for a lot more freedom in the world. Your mother was a beautiful young woman and your keepsakes are lovely. I hope they all give you pleasure and comfort for many years to come.
