Watching this I was thinking how this case was cherished and well used once. Not a cheap case either. The grain in that was beautiful. I think whoever it was owned by would be very happy to see it restored by someone that appreciates the ways those items were made. I also enjoyed watching you use tools my father had like the hand drill and the manual buffer. It brought me some good memories. Thank you for putting so much thought in your restorations.

Your attention to detail is phenomenal! So glad it will be reused again. Was the inside constructed of tin? I guess they didn’t have much else in those days and a lot of tin mining still around then. Will the black marks return to rust again? Love your videos.

Великолепная реставрационная работа! Вновь эта магия работы старым инструментом. Ящик художника обрел новую жизнь и все в нем отлично - и безупречные замки, и волшебный блеск полированного дерева, и, конечно, драгоценной медью светящаяся шкатулка для инструментов художника. Вид из окна, снегопад за окном - еще одно достоинство этого видео. Один художник сделал отличную вещь для другого художника. Пусть в итоге будет написан, ну хотя бы и на этом картоне, вид из окна, падающий снег...

Must say, what you fail to apprehend is that us artists put a lot of time effort and expense into giving these cases that ‘lived in look’. Okay sometimes that is lived in till it’s a slum but it’s all part of our quest to give expert restorers a worthy challenge.... btw I’ve got about six of these boxes if you ever fancy having another go! Brilliant work too....
