I think the Ace 55s are also my favorite size they make and one of my favorite trucks in general. I've messed around with bushings a lot and have tried that exact setup you have, I think its really excellent for carving bowls and transition skating. For skating a combination of flat ground some street and bowls I went back to the stock barrel bushing for the bottom to give it a little more stability and run a bones medium top bushing.

Ace 55s have become my favorite size in the Ace Family. I've tried 66s and 44s, but felt the most comfortable and confident on 55s. I just got a pair of the new AF1 66s (which are old 55s) so I can't wait to try them out. Maybe I can do a follow up video comparing the two?

@@skating4satori672 That would be cool to see a comparison between the Classic 55 and AF1 66. I've been thinking about whether I'll try the AF1s or stick with the classics when my current set of 55s are done.

Very good explanation and visual. I only do this with Indy. Indy are just mushy for me. I have been happy with thunder, tensor and grind kings with the stock bushing. However when they wear out I do switch to bones.

AF1's bushings are pretty perfect imo - but damn, $32 for the Classic's are a steal!

Nice review. I have same board trucks. How are they doing so far? P.S. maybe get a microphone. I have the volume turned up all the way and can barely hear you.

Love Ace Trucks. That's all I ride now and have them on several other set ups. Do you have a recommendation for a microphone? We started this channel to chronicle our son's progression, but it also morphed into providing info for Skate Dads like myself who are seeking information on set ups and product. Thanks!

@@skating4satori672 I wish I did. You can probably get something pretty decent from Amazon just check for high reviews. I'm thinking you probably won't even have to spend much about $20 bucks.

do you skate transition or are those grooves from curbs?
@skating4satori6723 жыл бұрын
I would say 99% from steel and pool coping from skating transition and a few times from curbs when the skateparks were closed from April through May last year due to the SIP.

What size and weight are you for this setup, I heard you mention the bigger guys but not yourself.

At the moment, I'm 5' 10" and 170 lbs. Some of my friends are over the double century mark and they ride their trucks tight or with Bones Hard Bushings and I can't get their board to turn or carve.

For bones bushings you don’t need the bottom washer on the truck
@SUB0SCORION3 жыл бұрын
you dont need it, but you can play with the geometry a bit there.

I ride classics. Haven't had a chance to try out the new AF1s yet. Still have a few sets to get down to the axle.
