Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor - Test of the Ring Challenge and Lord of The Ring Trophy [1080p HD]

This challenge is easier than the Test of the Wild. The main objective is: Kill 5 Warchiefs and 12 captains and no Intel provided.
Bonus Objective for Elite boards are:
1. Brand 8 Captains or Warchiefs
2. Brand 50 Grunts
3. Finish in 60 minutes
Strategy:
1. As the Bright Lord, you have always 5 uruks to call/summon. Summon the first 5 Uruks and get the intel about Captains. Repeat this until you get intel about all Captains. The best place to summon the Uruks is on the spawning tower or other towers cos they can't go anywhere and it's easy to grab them. If you summon them anywhere else, they run to kill nearby uruks...
2. Now fast travel to Udun Crossing tower. This is the place, the Graug normally spawns. If you can't find one when you fast travel then repeat this process until you see one. Now, brand the Graug, and kill 12 Captains with it, cos it will save time. As the Captains are mostly Level 20 and above it's difficult to kill them.
3. Once you kill 12 Captains locate remaining 8 Captains and brand them. You cacn do this either doing the missions on the map or locating them. When branding them gain the intel about Warchiefs and their locations. While doing this you can also brand 50 Grunts.
4. Now goto Warchiefs missions and kill them as soon as you can. The best way is use the 'Ring Power' and this makes easy to kill a Warchief. If you don't have ring power, then you can recharge the Ring by doing Shadow brand the Uruks while fighting the Warchief. Donot do shadow brand when the Warchief is on low health as this will brand the Warchief and you will fail the Objective of killing warchief. Incase if you do, you still can kill the Warchief but it will waste time.
5. Also, you make sure you achieved branding 8 Captains, killing 12 Captains and branding 50 Grunts/Uruks before going to kill final Warchief if you have him in the end or a Captain if you have him in the end to finish the challenge.

I was able to complete this in about 49 minutes; didn't need to investigate a big strategy as I did with test of the wild. Never thought about summoning guys to you at the beginning on the tower though, good idea.

Im quite good at killing Chiefs so i had that helping me during this, also use wraith flash A lot during whenever you get swarmed by uruks (I recommend "if you have two sword specials" using first, wraith, then execution. Both wraith if a must) also you can get lucky with close captain spawns. Anyway, my time was 52.35 - 32250 S and just for bonus my first completed trial score test of the wild 32:45 - 14709 (yeah, had plenty time to score but I let my stress get to me and I quickly dispatched all uruks completing the challenge. Thx!

I've finished it on my first try thanks to your first 2 steps which would be getting intel on all of the captains , then getting the graug , after that i kind of on my own way killed all of the 12 captains in the world itself , i branded the others , then i went for the red captain missions and branded them too so i reached 8 , after that i went for the Warcheifs who were pretty easy to kill honestly , it took me 45:34 mins with final score of 30485!!!! i'm pretty sure i could lower that time a lot but tbh i just wanted to get the Achivement , not really the biggest fan of these tests myself , but i don't see why people see them as bullshit... impossible.. at least they give you a challenge , that isn't easy.... it's a really good game , story and everything... but it was quite easy overall , i replayed the whole base game with DLC 3-4 times and i can't wait for Shadow of War , 15 days left! pre-ordered the Gold version 2 months ago! hyped af.

you're playing SoM or SoW ? :P I've played it right when it came out (Shadow of War) , at first it felt so different from SoM , the animations , the movement , the fighting and the view.. but the more and more i play it , the more i love it! already got 26 hours playtime , playing it 24/7 when i'm free haha , i imagine there are people with more already , but it's a really good game and i'm glad i got it and ignored all the hate and backlash , it's so well made in every aspect , i hope it becomes GOTY... if not i'll be almost dissapointed , but it's GOTY in my heart anyway!

did you managed to get the achievement for test of the wild? i got every achievement besides this one for the test of the ring hence why i am here looking for tips and i really found this video helpful. If you did the test of the wild, was it harder or easier than this? and how did you managed to kill all the warchiefes so fast, in 40minutes, also how did you branded captains, you used wraith or how is it called to brand nearby uruks then grabbed the captain and branded him? ps: i loooove shadow of mordor, i only need this achievemnt

Just got this trophy then that's shadow of mordor completed, got a time of 53:01 (would of been far less if I didn't fuck up on drawing out the last war chief 3 times :p) Seriously though thanks for the guide it helped a lot!

HALLELUJAH! THANK YOU! This method was a godsend. Funny story about it is the last captain I needed to brand was killed by another branded captain so I spent 15 minutes roaming around in frustration. I finally let some random uruk kill me and he became a captain. So I had 17 minutes to kill all 5 warchiefs and brand that captain. Literally pulled it off at 59:37. I was completely jacked up and shaking in that last minute cause the warchief only appeared at 59m and my One Ring power was still only halfway charged.

Mr_Bohowsky I found that the best way is to fast travel between two not just fast travel to the one you are trying to get the groug to spawn at. Hope that helps

QuantemFear yes, you can gain intel of location, strength and weaknesses. But you can gain only location of a captain with normal uruk but not a warchief. There are Warms (Uruks with intel and marked in green) on map and you can gain intel about anyone either Captain or Warchief and their strengths and weaknesses. Also you need Captain only to gain the location of a Warchief. Hope this helps! :)

I am trying to get this achievement for months and everytime i get a graug i walk into strongholds( you can find 2 to 3 captains) sometimes they fuckin 2 shot my graug and there goes all the time you spent...when you try to do it manually you cannot finish within 60 min...any suggestions? even though i try to be fast to eat the captains 30 40 normal orcs do significant damage to graug..total bullshit challenges

Charge the ring power by with wraith blast and branding frequently and use it in the combat. Use the bow instead the sword and release as many arrows pointing to head when the time goes slow. It will be so easy to kill the Captains and Warchiefs no matter how big their rank is. Also use the slow time to kill other uruks and captains if the warchief has them as bodyguards. Also equip correct runes for ex: Tower of Defence for increasing the time for kill streak by 10 seconds. I hope this will help you. Good luck. :)

Retreat! LOL. The best thing about Bright Lord is you can summon the branded uruks and you can gain strength from them. If you have ring power meter filled, then you can use it when things happen like that.

when i was trying to get the graug, all the capitains died.. literally i only could kiiled 12 and all the others died normally(duels,trials), i had to advace time like 25times to get the graug.. what do i do

+JLCfreitas Graugs only spawn at night time. Make sure when you are on the tower, it's night time. If you don't see a graug near the tower then go to the cave. The graug cave is somewhere near the tower. Go through the story walkthrough once where you encounter and need to escape the gruag and you meet Tarvin for the first time and remember that location. Sometimes, things like these happen. Try again. I'm sure you can do this challenge with little patience.

So can someone explain why spend 4 min (3 min 40 sec) branding Captains that you will just kill 12 of with Graug? Seems more time efficient to kill the 12 captains immediately with the Graug and than use your branded army to get intel on the remaining 8. But as I'm just about to begin my efforts at this, I'm open to someone explaining the reason for branding all 20.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but for others reading this, in the beginning he wasn't branding captains; he was gaining intel on them so he'd know where they were when he went after them with the graug. Then he branded the ones he needed, gaining intel on the warchiefs as needed. He could have used the ring early on to trim some time, given how much branding he was doing, and he stealth branding needs a little work, but other than that, it works.

I hope they give the battle system a little more of Batman's nuance (say, for example, when I use an Instant Execution move, Talion should prioritize the tougher enemies in the direction I'm holding, rather than wasting it on any old mook - or, even worse, a branded ally), and there are a few nitpicks I have with other aspects of the game that I hope they address, but the trailer looks awesome and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Have you played the main story? You earn points to upgrade your health bar. Once you do that, it remains upgraded for every challenge and DLC.

Use the Tower of Defence epic rune to keep going your combat streak. for 10 seconds extra. 10 seconds is good time keep going the streak. I mentioned in Endless Challenge video in one of the comments what runes I used more or less. This challenge is easier than Test of the Wild and I think even Endless challenge.

Look for the blue skull mark with a crown on the map, u will find them by going to the marked locations. When u get to the warchief, grab and shank ur warchief in order to kill them if u don't have any intel left on captains.
