Welcome back! This week I deliver something I promised a while ago. I thought of going straight into the crowd with a Legendary power and just wrecking them, but that was very underwhelming and cheap. And going in full-out combat without a Legendary Power is just suicide. In the end I chose to hunt them down one by one, while trying to deliver an entertaining showdown. I hope you all enjoyed. This is likely not the last time you hear about this gang. I did some experiments with them that I might upload some time. Mostly involving fear tactics. And yes, I pulled that off without being hit.

Uruk's Hollow pity that you can't mess with the files directly and adjust skills of said Captains. Would the skills that make them have followers or signal for help even work in such a mob?

I mostly used the summoners to create this huge gang. No use for them once I branded them. It is likely a summoner wouldn't be able to call for many reinforcements, specially at the start when the gang is full (they only summon when there are like 4 uruks left). And I think if there had been a summoner, my priority would have been to take him out early. As for things like "Gang Leader", that only works on Power Struggles and in the open world. Bodyguards don't bring their own gangs when protecting a Warchief.

I agree. This video was less a challenge and more a display. Uruk's Hollow, as said in the ending, is truly the bright lord, sowing fear, reaping death and remaining an untouchable wraith.

That's one of the reasons I prefer Shadow of Mordor over SoW because in SoW Orcs are too powerful.the hardest difficulty makes no sense, as soon as a Captain is invulnerable to executions, has a shield or is a savage it becomes a chore to play... Everything except maybe stealth does absolutely no damage. You have to spam whatever is able to harm the Orc, it is not fun. Yes, if the Orc is only weak to fire you've to spam elven light fire version, which takes soooo long, it's boring. The "untouchable wraith" that can be one shot by whatever the game throws at him? Waw... "Reaping death" but has to spam Elven Light 20 times because the Orc is immune to executions.

Edit: It's also a bit disappointing that there are no difficulty settings in Shadow of Mordor, the only thing I can really do in the settings is turn off counter prompts and detection meters and I've been playing like that since my first playthrough.

I like to think this is a flashback from an uruk that survived talions assault, and that the uruk culture renamed him from the feared one, to the fearful due to him fleeing.

Idk how did he got him fearless without branding, but I know when coward captain with a bunch of fears(sometimes even with fear of Talion) rises to the top of the food chain he actually aquires all invulnerabilities and loses all fears after being branded, becoming fearless. Seeing how he has wraith scars, he probably returned after death, that could have cleared his fears, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, Takra is no Combat Master, so just getting him far enough away allows for Drain abuse (again, provided that is allowed). Just can't have one like this getting scared and running away with those energy legs. Pigug being around isn't desirable, but he's also open to being choked out. He might block vaults, but you can slap that out of him (among other solutions). No rules against doing his finisher. Hork is an upgrade to the last (same rules). Rash is a quick-turning, vault-breaking, metal Defender. His regen is whatever, but his Fear is worth considering (aside from choking him out) should he be isolated and taken by a Caragor (before taking it out after it serves its purpose so as not to have the thing running amok). Prak doesn't come up. Ah, so Vault Breaker Hunter was Prak, I presume. Hork is afraid of burning and can be instant killed with stealth (EZ MUNNY). No more need be said, really. Dugza has shit moves, but can still vault break if you're doing it raw while he's ready. Not even a CM. Got to be careful with Skak around 'betrayal'. Can be good, but you don't want the guy running off on you at a bad time (least of all with the speed of Kenyans). His Hate probably won't help him much. Have to watch carefully for boomerangs (just like other projectile scum). Regen shouldn't be much of a concern. Another non-CM, though one has to respect that he is a Berserker (auto-counter needs to be minded). Hura is a failure (instant death from the likes of an Execution) and a very common Fear. His defenses aren't half-bad otherwise (frontal slap blocking, counter-breaking and vault stuffing **aside from one 'heavy' move**). If only he were a CM. Pug is another 'inspiring' type. His lack of fear is useful (can't have too many getting cold feet). Vault Breaking is a grand ability to have (though the ability not resetting hit count, dealing any damage or even opening us to any takes tons of bite from it). Too bad he's not a CM (that isn't even fully immune to stealth nor a beast slayer). Deadly Grapple. How scary **dohoho**. Pugrish with the 'No Chance'. Can't be found taking a knee by him. His fear of fire should be easy enough to exploit.j Hoshgrish is another jobber (inspiring like Yamcha was before he got blown the fuck out). Norsko with the Humiliator trait (effectively the same as No Chance where you are concerned). Skog with another Last Chance. Nothing too interesting (no 'trackers' to lure away, no summoners causing mischief, explosive arrow punks causing chaos, etc.). Lugdash open to stealth kills. Easily written off when gone after quickly while caught unaware. Noruk with an instant kill condition I don't know I'd bother going for given how pathetic he is otherwise. Buth bringing the heat with explosive arrows (one to watch). Can't have him doing as he pleases when kids running off can fuck you over so hard (a save state would help with redoing all this business again). Amug ain't shit. Kaka is just plain shit (another open to instant kill from stealth **could be worse with being instant killed by Ranged, I suppose**). Just can't be caught mid-prayer by the guy. Folgum has an okay set of abilities. Too bad he cannot stop you from just platforming all over his ass. Would be nice if 'Storm-Bringer' titles had more in common with the weapon in question (taking power from the souls of those they kill *friend or foe*, which could come up as a 'Cursed Weapon' with 'Life Steal' among other things). Narug hardly lives up to his name (counter-breaking is about the only thing related to the title). He's lacking in immunity to arrows (at least he isn't instant killed by them **for his sake**). >direct combat with an alerted mob of uniques was suicide If you rely on counters, probably, yeah. If I were stuck in the midst of such a group, I'd be looking for those I could exploit insta-kills for, who could be terrorized (then kill them), abusing vault (while feeling out who it works on **before testing out the likes of stun**), avoiding mass aggro (if an option), take out ranged punks first, let them friendly fire each other (explosives arrows, some shield moves, boomerang Berserker blades, etc.) while watching for runners, focusing on individuals more than mobs (to avoid too many would be escapees at once), etc. A whole mess of vault, slap and repeat would go on for many, frankly. >Wraith Flash and Stun inspiring too much will to flee That right? Must be terrified? Is suppose "Fearless" is an undesirable trait for rule 4. Rule 5 with a MAX character shouldn't be much of a consideration, really. Even at base, just taking a little care goes a long way (never mind being allowed to research your enemies **not like a time limit was set nor do foes generate for this bout unidentified**). NOTE: Not seeing any rules about branding (versus just killing). 0:46 I see that. I can understand not going with Vault Stun. I don't upgrade much, so I'm just guessing, but that last icon seems to be the one for resisting the loss of hit count build-up from a single blow. Adding more difficulty, are you? 0:54 Not sure I'd have bothered getting all of them, really. 1:06 This matters more. I imagine you got some decent runes (one of each, at least if not the 'highest level' for all of them). Matched to your playstyle, are they? I'd expect no less. But what style is that, I wonder? Inspire terror like crazy? Life recovery abuse from the likes of FotL? Wraith Flash hit property augmenting, is it? I'm more surprised you want the same from counters (given how risky that business is to use versus favoring vaults). Even more of the same, but on melee (reasonable). The bonus damage (for melee) without needing a high hit count is appreciable (I suppose you don't intend to kite the mob, toss Throwing Daggers, blow them up, set them ablaze and repeat). Full Focus recovery for something so simple is certainly exploitable (should you wish to suddenly use the time-slow for aiming or 'running'). 1:16 May as well have headshots be worth more, I suppose. Cheapening the cost (retroactively) for Shadow Strike is tried and true (though not my style). Fire arrows gaining explosions is obviously good (with the 'bow rage' in particular though building a charge isn't exactly hard to do either). I'm not big on low chance stuff (even if the effect could be nice). Generalized bow damage increase is alright, too. I don't focus much on bow damage with so many high levels being immune to it. 1:24 More knockdown set-ups, eh? Despite what I said before, I'm all about LotV. If Bright Fury was the one with a chance for an AoE stun, that too was well liked. Given the branding related rune you got, seems safe to say you intend on making use of the option. Elf shot refueling, is it? As before, I'm more for life drain and terror spreading (just a pity you cannot use Drain properly after gaining Brand). 1:38 Alright, let's have it. 1:46 Deadly Poison, eh? Having the likes of 'poison immunity' would be nice should one ever get touched by the stuff, but with heavy damage melee, one wonders how much it matters. NOTE: The rules didn't say anything about using warp, but I imagine that is not in the spirit of the challenge. Battle-hardened is to be expected. Regeneration is cute. His Hate of Graugs won't factor unless you bring one his way (should you just grab and eat him, it won't matter at all) or lead him far from his stronghold (also an option). Explosions weakness should be exploitable with bonfires and Morgai Fly nests considered (aside from maybe headshots on other Uruk and such). His 'mastery of all' is typical. We've gone over workarounds for Combat Masters plenty. I'm sure you're familiar with a fair few yourself. Guy isn't a backlash type (nor even a dangerous class *no Berserker auto-counter, no great range, no shield, etc.*), can't vault break, won't block Wraith Stun, etc. I forget how precisely one terrifies uniques without clearly specified fears (jack them up long enough, kill enough people around them, use terrorizing moves near them enough or whatever). As much as I enjoyed abusing terror, I wasn't focused enough on it to learn all the rules. 1:55 I don't know if this or the top-right stronghold would be worse. Probably the latter. 2:11 So it begins. 2:19 A nice, easy one.

Feeling pretty justified in shit-talking Hura to the point of calling him a failure right about now. 4:13 A bit of an odd rag-doll for this kill type, I'd say (don't remember that being normal). 4:18 Found one (of the half dozen) vault breaker(s). May as well greet with the back of your hand before vaulting at unknown, non-shielded uniques right now so long as you aren't open to reprisal (getting hit while swatting orcs). 4:30 Quite the exit (might have gone with a warp backhand into drain for a refill **and a pawn in this case**). Going to be dropping a Morgai Wraith Bomb on them just yet (that would be pretty daring)? 4:39 Taking this lot out now, eh? Better late than never. Planning to force the great mob to pursue you to the caves, maybe? 4:47 Fuck. Got to get a bead on this fool and wipe him out. Warp to the rescue. 4:53 Nice aim. Heromanzero Gaming have you tried the sword, Bow, and dagger legend side quest if you do 5 on each category your weapons will change apperance and if you do all 10 your weapons will look like his remember you have to do the 10 legend quest for each weapon to change its appearance or just complete 5 of each and that's basically it.

I think ol Yurnero the juggernaut from Dota 2 sums this "fight" up pretty well: "Surgical" But gotta love that ol almost infinite omnislash with knight of eregion. Haven't found that one since my first playthrough when I actually let myself use shadow chain though cause I think I had far too much fun with it. :V So, is there a special technique you use to get captains to go be body guards of a single warchief without them being branded first or something? Seeing this, makes me wanna try some large group fights if only I could find a warchief with more than a couple of dudes.

If I remember correctly, you need one branded "demanding warchief", so he can attract more bodyguards (branded and evil captains)... Am I right?

What you have to do is find a Summoner, have him call for some more Captains. Hoard as many as you can handle. When you have a bunch, Brand the Summoner and the other Captains will be friendly for the time being. You then lower their health, grab them and choose Command. Select the Warchief you want to have a ton of bodyguards and help the Captain complete his Initiation. There are a few more steps needed to have a 21 Uruk gang. I will get to it when I make a video about it.

Demanding Leader Uruks usually have 4 Bodyguards, but can go up to 6. Any more than that and it has to be your doing.

Had other gangs to practice with on different saves. Unless I constantly spammed Vault I would get hit from all sides, a couple melee Uruks would attack me simultanously and the ranged ones would follow right after. It is possible to do it, but doing it while trying not to make it look cheap isn't going to yield great results.

Are you aware that you can choose who to execute? You just press/hold the direction of the Orc you want to use execute on. This solves the issue of hitting/killing the wrong Orc.

How about a rune farming video? I've attempted to have all runes maxed out but I figured that is not possible to have all level 31 runes and I don't know why. I only can retrieve a limited variety of runes from the warchiefs in "test of the ring" and I wanna know if this is happening only with me or everyone else has the same issue :(
