I'm South African. I did the solo female travel there in 2007. I went to Tehran, Qom, Mashhad and Isfahan. It was an amazing trip. I loved it. I also experienced a warm welcome, hospitality of the first order and a willingness to help - everywhere I visited (including being invited to local homes for meals). Rozz, you've made me want to do another trip there. I feel like there's so much that I've missed out on.

I'm in the same situation as you, I have recently gone to study in Europe. On the flip side us Iranians in Europe or other places now can earn a lot of Rials by just working a shitty part time job and we can give back to our parents who helped us be where we are.

wow at 5:36 did he say Halwa, just did a google search for "halwa" looks like its a made in multiple countries. Never thought as a Indian Halva is made outside sub continent. From wiki "Halva is any of various dense, sweet confections made in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. It is also served in the Caucasus, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Balkans, Eastern and Western Europe, Malta and in the Jewish diaspora."

Oh yeah, it's just uploaded And interestingly she came to my place .. overally interesting ~ However, I recommend her or next person to visit hottest place on earth in Kerman and snowy summits on its nearby mountains (which I know residents of tropical countries usually like snow) And since she visited islands and sea 🌊, I can also recommend Chabahar shore (which is exceptional in water of the coast), Finally I can add, since she has witnessed the mosque, it's also highly recommended to visit biggest mosque of the world in Mahshad, "holy shrine of imam reza" Thanks Rozz ♥️🌼🌷

Just so you know, it isnt so much a local culture supported by all people but rather an imposed rule by people in power, since the religious fundamentalists rose to power there.
