The gas thing you mentioned. Well, the piping is never concealed In Iran inside the wall on purpose because of safety concerns. When there is a leak it is better that it is exposed to the open. That way the gas would get dispersed and won't accumulate leading to an explosion.

First, these videos are the best ones in introducing Iran that I have ever seen. Well done! Most of the tips they mention are right and should be concerned by tourists. That gas smell was interesting to hear for me, as an Iranian who has lived with it. The Taroof concept is not interpreted well. I guess because they had only one experience of that, which unfortunately was not a good one. It is not supposed to end badly or to something unexpected. However, I admit that it is super annoying and confusing. Even we Iranians get confused about the genuine intentions of Taroof takers :))))

In old Iran sale men doing Taroof and they believe in it, so if customer could not pay price they give them for free or borrow them, but now we only doing Taroof but we wait for money. still we have some good old style shops that do real Taroof. Taroof works every where even when you and someone else together entering a house. This is a culture in Iran like many strange culture in other countries. By the way you must know we do Taroof by people who like them and we do not have any Taaro with enemies :)) I hope you enjoyed in Iran

loved all the videos you made about Iran Steve. I hope you guys enjoyed your stay in all the cities you visited. by the way can you please tell more about how to get a visa for Iran and if it's possible or better to travel in Iran without a tour guide? did you sign up with a tour agency? do you have any friends in Iran to help you? I'm Iranian and I would love my foreign friends to someday visit my country but I don't have enough information about the what they might experience if they come or if I'll be able to meet them if they come with a tour agency and have a tour guide.

Thank you ver much! I'm currently translating my comprehensive travel guide from German to English where I'm talking about all those topics. Right now only citizens from US, UK and Canada need to be with a tour guide at all times / need to book an organized tour. Information about the visa process is different for each country and can be found on the website of the iranian embassy in that country.

I'm curious because I don't want to say I'm from USA because of current attitudes that are not my own. I love traveling meeting new people from all different countries. In your opinion what do most Iranians think about tourists from America? Thanks 😊 and blessings on your adventures!!
@naderdehbozorgi33155 жыл бұрын
Dear Elizabeth, Iranians are well known for their kindness and hospitality and if you seen on the news certain amount of them chanting dark wishes about USA it's not for the American people but for American foreign policy, so don't worry about telling them where you are from and experience their love in return. @Mafiadaughter7 жыл бұрын
That's not what Tarof is. Tarof literally means offering. An example would be like, someone offers you some sweets and you want to take it but you say " no, no it's okay" out of politeness but they keep insisting out of politeness so you eventually accept. What you're both doing is tarof. What that tour guide was doing was not tarof, he was trying to make a quick buck or maybe he thought because they were foreigners, they didn't understand the Iranian money and the difference between rial and toman. 1 million Rial is actually only 30 dollars.
