I love my Cielo X1's They truly are super comfortable, and really just help you fly. I run a full minute faster per mile in them ,vs my other shoes

Great video! Fellow mid-pack runner here and agree 100% with your rankings. I ran Cherry Blossom in the Hoka Cielo X1s and they were perfect! Would definitely choose them for half and full marathon. For 5k or 10k I would choose Asics metaspeed Edge Paris

Great list, the Hoka is my favorite also and the one I’m crushing miles in. I tried the V4 also…my only issue with it is the price. It should be 200.00. I paid 300.00 for the Hoka, and would do it again, it’s amazing. The V4 isn’t aggressive enough, V5 needs a more prominent rocker and a better tongue.

I love NB sc elite. I loved v3 as well. I feel like that shoe can handle a wide variety if paces and distances with ease. Saucony and Hoka shoes have always killed my feet and arches, and nikes fits too narrow. I have fussy feet, which is another reason i love the elite v4- super comfy.

Great review and comparison! The only ones of those I've tried are the Endorphin 4 and SC Elite 4. I wound up choosing the Endorphin for my marathon this past weekend because even though the SC Elite felt faster the Endorphin felt more comfortable. It also didn't rub the back of my left ankle like the SC Elite did. Will be using the SC Elite for a 10k in a few weeks though since it works great for me at paces faster than marathon pace.

Oddly enough, I'm a fan of both the SC 'Elite v3, of which I've owned two pairs of, as well as the Endorphin Pro 3, which I've completed two marathons in. So, this video couldn't come at a better time as I move towards my next purchase! Saucony pro 4’s are my first super shoe and they aren’t the most comfortable. I’ll run in the half in them if I’m not beat up, but I’m trying to find a different choice for marathon. Sounds like your top three are worth the check out for the marathon! Nice reviews!

I agree with the Cielo X1. However, it is slowly becoming a super trainer for me rather than a race-day shoe. The Sky Paris I got disappointed at first because I was expecting it to be like the Sky+ which I really loved. I did not expect it to feel really firm for my taste. In spite of this, the shoe is somewhat growing on me. I mean it should because I paid a lot of money to have it. 😂. Thanks for making this video. 😊

I guess what's nice about being a super slow back of the pack beginner is I don't really need to worry about super shoes at this point. 🙂 But that doesn't stop my curiosity, I've never ran in a plated shoe and have no idea what makes any of these more special than a typical daily trainer. I'm still running the 1080 V13 but someday I hope to have a need for something like these!

It gives you way more speed. For the same heart rate i am 10 seconds per km faster for example. Puma velocity nitro vs Puma deviate nitro. I can only imagine top of the line like alpha flys. Probably 15 seconds per km faster

Adidas Pro 3 fan here, looking forward to the Pro 4 and hoping there aren’t many changes. Very intrigued by the Meta Speed Sky, mostly due to the very light weight.

As someone who loves the vaperfly 2, im excited to one day try the Edge Paris. Ive found people saying because of the plate positioning they are for similar runners. Cielo X1totally came out of left field when released. Im really surprised at how many people love this shoe so i'll have to check it out as well when my wallet is heavier haha.

I have the New Balance super comp Elite v4 and I had a hard time with it my first 20 miles with blisters just terrible. I absolutely love this shoe now I guess it had to be broken in, now I have no troubles with it I actually lace it up daily and find myself wearing it everywhere! LOL but it is definitely my most Favorite, I want to try the new Hoka Cielo X-1 but one expensive or over 225.00 shoe per this year because I am buying every New Balance shoe that Launches in 2024 ... they are my Favorite Brand shoe!!

I’m training for my first long run (half marathon) and I tried on nearly all of these shoes after getting fitted and found new balance the most agreeable as well. I didn’t try the X1s, so interested to try some and compare.

AF 3 is still the king!!!! If I'm spending $250 or more, It's the only shoe I would buy. 3:03 in Chicago this fall!!!!!!!! Caveat: I only buy race shoes to race in. I use other types of shoes for 5k/10k, other types of runs. Not looking for versatility in my race day shoe so I totally get your rankings...

I'm not too far off from your rankings..I rank the NB sc elite V4 as the easiest on the feet..the Saucony pro4 has the lightest on feet feel but is not as soft as the NB..the hoka rolls better than the others but a tad heavy..but the one I usually grab for a race is the hoka rocket x2..since the alphafly V3 is not available I don't even rank it..IMO they are all compromises and none have all the best points in one shoe..how nice it would be to build a great race shoe from various parts of each..seems like no one really wants to make a truly great shoe..I believe it's by design and up to what the person making the shoe likes..if there is a really great marathon racing shoe I have never used it..nice video Emily, have a good race ..😊

Very disappointed in the Saucony Pro 4, the Pro 3 is one of my favorite of all time. All I wanted was the 3 with a better outsole and an upper update, totally diff shoe imo. The rest you have here are impossible to find in my size right now so I am torn what to use this year. Race time is soon.

I would! If it’s a road 50k. It’s heavier but honestly the way the midsole is constructed I didn’t even feel the weight

Alphafly is very unstable. Might not work best for overpronation. An advice: put some paces to maybe relate better to your perspective. Middle of the pack's perspective at 4.2 min/km is different than at 6.2 min/km.

Emily, since you've run in both, is the SC Elite v4 worth the expense over the Rebel v4? Seems like the plate is the only real difference and I'm not sure my pace (12) would take advantage of it. Thoughts?

Honestly, I think it’s worth the expense. The plate just gives you a little more help and it’s still a very comfortable shoe

I’ve never been more intrigued to try a Hoka shoe before. I’m just unusually tuning in something max cushion lol. I love my invincible run 3s. I have 3 pair (found them at a Nike clearance outlet) and was interested in trying the alphafly if I come across a sale lol. But the Hoka look cool
