Speaking on the Uncensored show, Finkelstein drew comparison with his parents, who survived the Warsaw Ghetto saying they both hated Germany for the suffering that it inflicted on them.

I watched the whole interview. It hit me particularly hard when he described how he made it his life’s work to stand up for the Palestinians. Then in 2020, he said he gave up on the situation because he was getting older and it seemed futile. He continued on to say that if, he, a scholar who chronicled and wrote books on the plight of Palestinians had given up on them, then likely just about everyone has given up on them. He inferred that people living in hell, for whom the whole world has forgotten, born in concentration camp type conditions, are not for him to condemn when they revolt against Israelis. He was visibly ashamed for giving up on Palestinians. He expressed he won’t give up on them again. God bless Palestine and God bless Mr. Finkelstein.

Norm is forgiven. For entirely selfish reasons. I felt and reacted the same way as him. I cared, but I felt completely helpless and powerless and so I gave up. I'm sure TONS of us did.
