Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland Centenary in the News

The Free Presbyerian Church of Scotland celebrated its centenary at the Church of Scotland assembly rooms in 1993. This video has a short interview with the Rev Donald Maclean.

There is one of these Churches near me and I go to it sometimws and I do love it alot. This congregation tries to follow the Bible as much as possible and I think that's a really good thing especially compared to most Churches these days

Dear ThundersSeven - I can't tell from a brief look at your videos whether you are coming from a Jewish or Christian perspective. Christians believe that from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ that you are quite right as to the date and timing of the Sabbath. This is based on the Genesis commands stemming from the resting in Creation. However, from the resurrection God has appointed the first day of the week ever since, to continue to the end of the world to be the Sabbath

I think it could be argued with some merit that this church represents the historic position of the church of Scotland at the reformation. Now I appreciate that many in modern Scotland might want to brush this into the pages of history, thankfully it seems that sentiment is not universal.

@@colz4r454 I wasn’t expecting universal agreement.. but I would agree the Disruption saw the Free Church of Scotland acting loyally towards the traditional reformation Calvinist position that was always there in the Church of Scotland. I would argue that in 1893 the adherence of that church to the confession was altered and the church that was loyal to those standards was the FP Church.. whereas that group which remained to fight a successful law case in 1900 knew that they should have taken that action with us a few years earlier.

"And by a prophet Jehovah brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was [Israel] preserved". You see? The change of day and time was made to Christians on the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ as the son of God. It is seen in 1 Corinthians 16v1, Acts 20 v7 etc. I hope that helps.

Sunday is not the Sabbath. As per His Ten Commandments; the seventh day [sunset Friday - sunset Saturday] is YAHUAH'S rest day. Learn the holidays [Appointed Times] which the Messiah and His taught ones kept; since they teach YAHUAH'S redemption plan for mankind. As it is written, if you want eternal life then keep and do His Commandments.
