How do you clean one of these units I have a bunch of mold on the inside and can not take the front face out

I JUST did mine the other day...I took it out and sprayed $12 Mold Armour from Home Depot. It's the one that smells like strong bleach. I only waited 3 minutes, then I put the hose inside the vents. Then, I laid it on its side and drained it out. I did this twice, and it's working fine. DO NOT spray water in the control panel; it can take moisture, but I wouldn't recommend a direct spray. Then, I washed the coils out in the back. I didn't spray the Mold Armour directly on the aluminum coils; I only sprayed it on the moldy styrofoam on the inside vents. It brought it back white instantly, and it smells good.

@@superdo-it-yourselfers1096but were you able to take off the front of the case to reach the styrofoam

@@raulramirez4150 No, I didn't try; my units are almost brand new. I used the mold neutralizer instead.

It is very easy to install. Unfortunately my two 12000-BTU units worked for two years only. And since midea didn't care about my problem I had to throw both in the garbage.

Lol hello, I bought this thing last year, i need to take the inside bit of it apart and for the love of the heat in my house I can't get the cover off. Apparently when it gets dirty on the inside it drains INSIDE from the bottom Do you still happen to have the manual? I would love to see it lol, I'm taking a break from the thing and searching for a manual or how to video lol

I would say that it works great, aside from realizing it has been leaking inside my wall. Especially considering I bought it last year.
