Getting to have my tent right beside their camp, as an unofficial guard, interract with them directly, And getting a hug from Maria as we parted ways was truely a pinnacle of the festival for me. Such nice people.

@@methanerain127 I loved that detail as well. They care very deeply about each other and are very in tune with each other and the rest of their tribe. If you go back and watch the music video for "Judged By" by EUZEN (Maria and Christopher's previous musical project before Heilung), Kai has a brief appearance. Their friendship goes back many years :)

@@ItsThatJo Haha yeah that behind the scenes clip.. I am still waiting for the Euzen album, (and Songleikr, no pressure haha..). I was surprised to see how close they are and generous with their time in that almost 2.5 hours long FB interview, it was more like friends chatting than a band interview.

@@methanerain127 Oooo I'm not aware of that 2 and half hour interview! Do you happen to know who conducted the interview? I'd be interested in watching it! And yes, they are very generous. If you haven't, watch Maria's interviews with Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice. It really feels more like a conversation between friends rather than an interview

@@MopokesAdventures here you go Sluggishly lie the hills beneath the dawn's seal. The fog drifts sluggishly through the valleys, from which treetops rise. "QUIET!" Legions stand ready, in red and silver Roman armor. Then the sun shines over the horizon and a long, mournful horn call sounds. It rings out again and again, first timidly, then louder, drum songs rise, then finally the carnyx sounds, and as far as it sounds, many a legionnaire forces his knees to rest. Then the forest begins to spit them out, first in large groups, then in twos and threes. They are very splendid to look at, as they stand there, well armed, proud in the morning light, many a helmet the boar adorns, whether of iron or leather, also the deer on the robe must not be missing, Wolf and bear, they are very related. The shield freshly polished, the hero stands with a long sword. On long poles boldly waving banners fluttering, where lure calls still ring out eerily. "QUIET!" The eagles on the other side only the cloaks of the riders are waving. And so the Keltui army gathers, shouts ring out, then suddenly there is silence and a great warrior steps out of your midst. He takes off his helmet and suit, the pants, and the protection for his legs too. Until he stands naked in the cool morning grass, only with collar, shield and sword. And as he then strides across the clearing, he is accompanied by shield slamming and song. Resolutely he builds himself up in front of the most beautiful golden armor and announces to the enemy general: "Before you stands the prince of the deer people, and I say to you: Let us not waste blood in vain! Send your strongest fighter against me, man against man, only he and I. If he wins, we give way, but I win, like this then give way!" The opponent takes up his speech in silence, only his horse prances nervously and wheezes. And at a nod, death rides on hornets of pillars manifold in the Keltui's breast and colors it red. And when he then falls forward: A mighty scream stopped! It's the brothers in arms who are screaming, they want to free themselves from their anger! Helmet and armour, chain mail are flying, they would only have restricted us in the fight. Drums and carnyxes sounded again, loud, raw shield-and-swordlings. Neighing, someone pulls up the car, loudly his call penetrates every ear, how he swings the blade with his well-ornamented arm, and with the other his horses. "FORWARD! FORWARD, MY BROTHERS! SING ME ANCIENT BATTLE SONGS! SOAK THE SWORD WITH ROMAN BLOOD! FOR ONLY THIS WILL STOP THE FURY OF THE GODS!" He flies towards the ranks like a missile, and the missile turns into rain. All run and ride to break the shield wall, avenge the dead chief of the stag. Each wagon tears a wound, breaks shields, but they close again, are far too many. As the water smoothes, a stone falls in, the Roman ranks stand firm, as if unharmed. And by the time the Keltui infantry rushed in, the Legion would have rushed to rebuild their ranks and cheat the Keltui of victory. And behold, a mighty slaughter is growing among the sons of men who do not respect one another. They tear, tear and crush each other, bloodstained, faces of death, hate each other. Once he proudly wore the heads of his enemies on his belt, and now, now his own rolls there. The one who ran up so heroically now has to puff and bleed, losing a leg. This one who wielded the javelin so nimbly is screaming now robbed of his fine hands, and the beautiful, proudly swollen muscular chest suffers from heart ache and loss of blood. The Romans' cold provocation and waiting proved effective, With no prospect of victory, the naked fall on their swords. They retreat, give themselves up to death, because the greater need would be to be trapped. Lure and Carnyx sound weaker now, Keltui standards can be seen falling into the blood swamp. Only the Roman eagles still soar, and the formation doesn't have a tiny hole. Standing bright red and unmoved, the commander is very delighted. The Keltui guide was dragged in front of him, he doesn't even care what his name is. Mortal wound the once so proud man, who can only crawl before the Roman. "Oh, if only I had never grown up, never been born! It would have been better for me than to crawl on the ground before you! Vae victis, woe to the vanquished who lie in the dust before Romans." Now nobody is there to protect wife and child and farm, the Roman eagle appreciates that. He soars to his feet, leaving a great trail of blood across the land known to us as "Gallia."

Thank you all for sharing this moment with us. After watching, I was in some longer thoughts about the tears situation. Maybe a personal thing because i am that type as well who can't hold tears back and got lots of negative comments in my childhood and youth about it, like i was the only crying person in the world, a fail or did that on purpose (never, it was always a hard and lost battle against it). It was very deep and connecting to listen to my favourite band about one of their moments of this topic. And Maria's voice is still so outstandingly strong, impressive and colourful in this song.

It's interesting that Maria says that in the song "Nesso" it sounds like her voice was broken. I disagree, I think it was one of the most beautiful songs on this wonderful album. It definitely made me cry the first time I listened to it!

I think more figuratively broken, but she was also not really singing completely "clean" in that state, which makes it all the more raw and honest. They made a good choice to just go with that and not get it absolutely cleanly perfect.

I just got three Heilung shirts in the mail today. Unfortunately I have not seen a ritual live and there won't be one in the US that I can make this year but as soon as is possible I will see a ritual for myself. There is nothing in this world I want to see more. In fact I was watching the total solar eclipse recently and all I could hear in my head was In Maidjan and Anoana. It was wild, and very primal, like I was back in time seeing one with my tribe or something. These three are incredible, just so passionate and talented and kind, the world needs what they have and I'm so happy that they are bringing it to us. And thank you for bringing them to us.
