I never considered learning this before, but being a quick-calculating numbers nerd, and also a musician both by heart and school (but not by occupation), I consider this as a treasure chest ❤ And: it was warming to see how you handled the interruptions ❤️

Thanks Stranges! Sorry for the confusion. In the traditional decimal number 3,578...... 3 is in the thousands place.....5 is in the hundreds place, 7 is in the tens place, and 8 is in the ones place. I might have actually not used the term "placeholder" correctly technically, but that is the idea I was trying to convey. Thanks for the feedback!

@@markeveretts thanks for the reply dude, I'm trying to make sense of some midi implementation charts, not sure what some of the terminology means like "true number" in the description column, trying to setup program change for my tr8 drum machine in ableton.
