Whats the max polyphony for voices controlled via midi input? I have a voice live 2 and it supports 8 voices harmony without doubling. Is it the same with the VL3/Extreme? The manuals for VL3/Extreme say "up to four voices" but I can't imagine why you would remove the 4 extra voices if you're not doubling. So does the VL3 support 8 voices of midi controlled harmony without the voice doubling turned on like the VL2? or is this feature removed from the VL3's?

Is there a way to edit polyphony of midi signals? I mean, create a monophonic input or adjust portmanteau and things like this. The chord idea is great, but the hard step from one note to another is part of the draw for hardtune effects and vocoders.

HarmoNyck You can add portamento, humanization and vibrato to any of the harmony voices that are created with the setup in this demo. I turned it all off for this one, just to make it steppy and robotic.

Hi. Is there any way to get effects to the hard tune when using a midi keyboard. When I turn reverb/echo on I get my direct mike which is not what I want ? Any help is most appreciated .

Hi, I have a Merish 5 player and Voicelive 2. I set channel 5 as the receiving channel on the VL2, the notes are received very well. The problem is the Program Change, the Merish sends the PC related to the track 5 instrument but this is received by the VL2 with the consequent preset change! The manual reports to set FILTER to OFF, I did it but the PC is still received. Do you know a solution? Thanks again

You must set the VoiceLive 2 SETUP / MIDI / FILTER parameter so that VoiceLive 2 filters out Program Change messages, so OFF is not good for you.

Craig! I need help setting up my MIDI notes mode, but on my VLT2!!! I know this machine so well, and have spent countless hours in the guts, manuals, videos. I've got it to work a few times, but only when i use Logic/Mainstage in between. I, of course, want to be able to do this without needing my computer. Is this not possible?

Yes, you can use the VLT2 without a computer. That's why they made it :)

There is! Craig chose one style for this particular video, but you can definitely apply affects and presets to your Guitar ad well as your voice!

Unfortunately we don't support MIDI USB devices natively. It's something we'd like to do, but I'm not really sure what it takes to become a generic MIDI host. Might be something we look deeper at for VL4.

I wrote it wrong, traditional USB-MIDI interface will not work. I think a computer or a "USB MIDI HOST" device should be placed between the two.

Yes, it is possible to do this with VoiceLive Rack.

One question, does Voicelive 3 receive pitch bend vía midi keyboard?

Yes, it does. There is a global "Pitchbend Range" parameter to define the range that pitch bend information can affect the current note(s). This value is represented in semitones. The default value is 12 (1 octave). IMO it can also be set to 0.

Craig can u please help me..i just bought my VLT2...yesterday..and i was using it..for about 40 min when suddenly it froze up..screen locked up and buttons did not do anything when pressed..today it happend again..any ideas? should i return it and replace it..it started to worry me that i have a defective VLT2...thanx

sugardustmusica Hi sugardustmusica, if it's that new, I'd just swap it at the retailer as a DOA unit. It's faster than sending it in via Support. Sorry that you've had back luck with the unit!

Hi there, I wanna use my midi keyboard as a voice controller like on this video but I’m struggling bcz it doesn’t work. I’m using an usb-usb cable to connect my Akai mpk mini to my vl3x , setup the usb port to MIDI , go to the preset(s) dedicated to do the magic thing ( midi male voice, female voice, tight notes etc...), trying to change harmony natsense input but: Nothing. Is anyone here have the same problem or get the solution?. 🙏 thanks 😊

I don't think this works because the USB on both devices is designed to connect to a Host device. @@kiskadar69 something really weird: when i use an ipad with a midi keyboard app, the voicelive get the midi signal like on the video and it works like on the video. But ain’t work with a real keyboard.

Nope that lead goes into the effects even when lead is set to off ONLY if the preset is set to PRE in the Setup menu. If it's set to POST, you won't hear it unless lead level is on

zeo bas Shipping dates from our factory/warehouses doesn't mean that the product gets to user's hands right away, so you may see a delay between our date and the dealer's. I'd suspect that once things filter down through their own warehouse and logistics systems you'll be into June before they're actually on your doorstep. Once they leave our hands, the individual times can vary between retailers.

Sorry to say that, but you guys don't even show how to connect a keyboard in midi mode. Please show your ports. I have a singthing and I'm so confused in connecting to my keyboard.

Hey Behzad. With the Singthing you connect your keyboard via 1/8 connector in the Aux/Keys port on the back of the unit. The MIDI would be for setting up a midi controller to "Hit" the different effects. If you have any other questions you can find a lot of information in our manuals on our website under Support.
