Nearly perfect classic sounding trucker song. It's simplicity is what makes it so great with its jingle guitar accomplishment, steel guitar, awesome. Then Nashville got ahold of it for the album version and destroyed it with horrible over production. They made it feel modern. They turned it into garbage.

@@closetcleaner In my opinion I believe real old school country has a lot of influence from Mexican/ Hispanic music. Also Mark (lead vocalist) was raised on a farm right across from the Mexican border. He has a very huge love and respect for the culture. If I am wrong some one please correct me.
@cantugabe3 жыл бұрын
@@closetcleaner Cowboy culture and Mexican culture share a lot of similarities and are even influenced by each other in many ways. Way back in the day when there was less problems and the border was open, people often went across the border back and forth for work or trade. It was common for a lot of Texans in the area to be fluent in Spanish and Mexicans to be fluent in English. There are several different sub-genres within country music and I would say Midland definitely falls into the Texas side of things. Texas is not so big on being "American". Not that it's bad but they just love being Texas more than anything. Being a Texan is also acknowledging the Mexican roots in some ways. I think it's great that they actually give a "shout out" to the culture.
