"Cartoons don't need no fucking 4K?" 🤪 Uhh, yeah... they do. Even some cartoons and anime are filmed on 35MM and such. There's a reason why Transformers: The Movie and Akira got 4K releases because they're important movies in animation. Sure, some can be on Blu-ray, but sometimes there's some that deserve the 4K treatment.

@@tylerwagner1978 the restoration side of it would be worthwhile for sure... But I am genuinely curious how they handle its HDR. There's a chance that it was originally created with a brightness range and narrow color palette specifically suited for SDR on purpose - it may or may not've been made any differently than the show, idk. My guess is that it'll maintain the same hues just more saturated, but I can see how a Southpark film purist wouldn't want that modified from its more tv roots. Bring on the 4k for sure, I'm just curious. Spongebob feels like it'll be a more night-and-day difference than SP.

Yes. It was shot on 35mm. 35mm film resolves at 4-6K.

The 4K disc does have the sing along version. Just turn on the subtitles.

The previous Blu-ray does NOT have the sing-along version. I projected this at a theater when it played, there were parts I’d always look down into the theater when it was crowded to see the audience reactions.

For years, I didn't realize what they meant by "Bigger, Longer, and Uncut". Then one day it hit me and I laughed for a good bit. Movie still holds up great, as do most of the early seasons. I stopped liking it when they introduced PC Principal.

I was so certain we would get a Steelbook for the 20th Anniversary back in 2019. So happy to see South Park finally transitioning to the 4k format. I live for the 90s/early 00s 👊 Hearing you mention the music video wasn't included on the US dvd blew my mind. Being in the UK, our dvd release had it, I used to watch that after the movie loads back in the day.

Ken, you appreciate the finer things in packaging and I just received both South Park & Team America from the US and the foil slips are so much nicer than the boring bland UK ones, plus a nice thin jewel case as UK's are thicker for the security tag -- foil slip & thin case, f**k yeah! 😆

Huge fan of South Park. I love Juvenile humor so this movie is one of my favorites of all time. The first time I saw it was on DVD and fell in love with it. Also real late in the evening they always aired it on Comedy Central. Unfortunately I missed it on the big screen because I was underage at the time. Actually when I was staying at my Grandmas we went to see Disneys Tarzan and South Park was playing 2 auditoriums down and me and my little cousin snuck in for about a minute and she never found out. Favorite song from the movie is “Kyle’s Mom is a big fat B***h because Cartman is my favorite out of the boys. This is easily a day one for me and I do have the Pre order in.
