Well not necessarily. Emilio's car is faster, but he didn't drive perfectly. Reiji did, and that can make a bigger difference. I once did a whole campaign using only the taxi, and I made it pretty far. I even beat the London City Champ with the taxi. However, before anyone calls BS, I am not lying. I had to try many many many MANY times before I could win. I also used dirty tactics like making racers crash into cars or buildings and such, this along with the really good handling of the taxi made me win every race, however I could NOT beat the World Champ with the taxi. Sometimes skills are better than speed. Just putting that out there.

I was never able to beat this game because Kareem never spawned in for me. I won all the races against emilio, the truck guy, and the chick, and they all disappeared from the map, but Kareem never spawned on the map. There was literally no arrow indicating anyone else on the map, and I had spent hours searching for him on the freeway. It ended up acting like I was just doing cruise mode, but in career mode. With some research, it seems like I might be the only one who had this problem.

After the days of Rush or Crusin in the N64, this was a new challenge for me when this first came out. I used to have this game, but I did manage to beat it 100%. Looking back, it does show its age, and the AI races unfairly. And the New York picture showed the Twin Towers. Sad times...

Yeah. Like when you zoom past them and look back, the AI cars do this aggressive shake and try to hit you. Even head on lol.
